"Double K Contractors were a delight to work with. They were very courteous, responsive and professional. The wildfire occurred on 19 Feb 2011 and the reconstruction was completed by the end of July. Several delays occurred due to slowness of the insurance adjuster, and particularly the bank - the money to cover demolition and reconstruction was provided with the requirement for the bank/mortgage holder's conuntersignature - taking 2-3 weeks for each of four disbursements to clear and delaying the project by around 2 months overall. Double K was very understanding and worked with us and the adjuster (there being several code-upgrade issues which resulted in minor additional costs). The construction proceeded smoothly, with Neal at Double K in frequent contact by email or cellphone to confirm what they planned to do or to require input. The quality of the construction work was faultless and at each stage the County inspections passed without an issue. The overall cost was probably above the median but was close to the estimate provided by the insurance company's own contractor. We had reviewed other potential contractors and chose Double K because they had a good reputation, were reviewed well on Angie's List, were local (~15 miles), had done a lot of work in Montgomery County so had a good working knowledge of the relevant permitting and inspection processes, and their quote was close to that of the insurance company's contractor. Would definately hire again for similar projects."
