"Review is for work done previously, didn't have time to review. Excellent work done, timely and efficient. Had to completely re-plumb under sink to facilitate new stuff, work done and cleanup was great. Shower pull was from a previous install. Started leaking and they sent guys around immediately to remedy at no charge. Great company, responsive and friendly. Highly recommend."

"On Saturday evening 11/4/23 I notice our home toilets were both backed up, and other drains in the house slow to drain. I searched the net and found on Angie List the listing for NEXT PLUMBING 24/7. Called them 9:30 PM. They answered and advised they were on a call-out and would it be OK to come to the house Sunday morning, I agreed because the toilet & drains were slowly draining. 8:30 AM Sunday morning received a call from OWEN he is on the way. He arrived within 10 minutes and diagnosed the issue. OWEN explained thoroughly the work he performed. He was professional and very pleasant. I will definitely call NEXT PLUMBING again and request OWEN when a plumbing problem occurs."

"The work done wasn’t what is shown above, but that was the closest option. The plumbing was checked throughout the house. He inspected all sink and tub/shower drains and valves, the sump pump, hot water heater, and main water shutoff. He explained any possible problems that could be changed. He was pleasant and helpful. I would recommend him and request him for future issues."

"Project: Install 100 foot French Drain Our sales representative Dave Premo was well informed of the unique specifications for our French Drain installation. He professionally managed our project from start to finish and was readily available to answer our questions. Our 3 person Torres Team who installed our French Drain had a stellar work ethic. They communicated with us when we asked questions and took great care to install the pipe pitch as appropriate. They also did a superb job cleaning up our residential job site after the drain was installed. We would recommend Dave Premo and the Torres Team."

"Kudos to Kyle and Edwin for their expertise and professionalism in installing a new garbage disposal unit, unclogging the kitchen drain, and installing a top-quality water filtration system. These Apex plumbers were responsive and on time and made sure the jobs were done right. I would not hesitate to call them again."

"I initially contacted Filtration Direct through an Angie's List Big Deal promotion. After receiving a call and discussing my options, I opted for the entire home water filter system. <br /> The installer showed up in the morning and discussed with me where it would be installed. Fortunately we had a good spot on the outside of our house. Since the tanks are guaranteed for life, I was not worried about them being out in the elements. The installer did a good job of installing, and even ran the electrical under a concrete pavement to keep it hidden. <br /> Overall really happy with the purchase and the installation. <br /> I primarily installed the systems as I was seeing corrosion on many of my water faucets in the house. Since this is a relatively new home, we are the original owners, I hope that this will increase the longevity of the fixtures. <br />"

"Dan called to ask if it was convenient for him to come today to check my system. I really, really appreciate when people call ahead because I have big dogs, and Dan always calls. He arrived about 20 minutes later and checked the salt container and the chlorine reservoir. I mentioned to him that one of the tubes had slipped of place last week but I was able to deal with it. He proceeded to completely disassemble the tubing system, did whatever magic he does, and voila, good as new. He did not charge me for the repair even after I asked him to.  This is truly a conscientious business that cares very much that you are happy with your service. I highly recommend them. <br />"

"Technician vacuumed out the water and determined that the problem was likely related to using the wrong soap. He stayed until it was clear that the drain was working. He advised to cycle through one more time without soap. He did not charge for the service call. We have used Meares three times now, and appreciate their professionalism."

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in New Port Richey, FL

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
