"Perfect. They were able to walk me through a diagnostic evaluation of the appliance prior to them coming out to see if I needed a repair or new version."

"This would have been a solid A except for two things: 1) the contractor failed to pull a building permit; and, 2) a worker trampled my wife's flowerbed while installing the ground rod. Failing to pull the necessary permitting resulted in the city inspector shutting down the project for about two hours. Still, the electricians were able to finish the job by late afternoon. Overall, we're satisfied with the work and feel safer with the new electrical panel, which replaced a unit that has a history of failure. Having the smoke detectors hardwired to meet new code requirements was an added safety bonus."

"Our dryer was taking forever to dry a load of clothes so we called an appliance repairman to take a look. He stated that the dryer was working fine it just wasn't "breathing" right and there was a problem with the duct. After consulting Angieslist we called Ductz to take a look. We called on Wednesday and set up an appointment for Friday. Josh showed up and started the clean out process and discovered that the original ducting was installed improperly so that even after cleaning it out would clog up quickly again. Keep in mind that this was no ordinary duct work, our washer and dryer are located in an interior laundry room so the duct went through the floor into the crawl space, took a hard left and ran about 8 feet along the joist, then took a right and traveled another 9 feet to the exterior vent. Due to that I wanted to make sure we didn't cut any corners that would just cause other problems a year or so down the road.
He suggested that we replace the duct work and gave us a quote on the spot. I decided to go for a permanent fix and authorized him to perform the replacement. He had another appointment to go to but stated that he would return later in the afternoon to do the job. Sure enough he showed right on time, got right to it and had us up and running in no time. Our dryer is back to it's old efficient self. He even mentioned that since there was a one year warranty on the work that I should call back in 11 months or so and let them do a re-inspection to make sure everything was still working properly.

"Very good. They take care of your appliances. They only charge my $75.00 per call, including the parts. They use refurbished parts most of the time. I would grade it basically to an B, I got the best one going according to most people. There is one in Colorado that will covers everything, but they are only located in Colorado. It can also take three days, or five days, it depends on the time of the year. With air conditioning, it can take more in the Summer time, because I am in Florida. Most of the time they are not that bad. The cover most of my major appliances, my washer, dryer, my pool. My daughter also uses the same company, they have done her washer, dryer, and air conditioner."

FAQs for appliance (major electric appliance) installation and replacement projects in Newberry, SC

A pro starts by setting the units in place and connecting them to the right plumbing lines, electrical circuits, and, for the dryer, a vent. If the hookups already exist, the job is quick. When they don’t, the installer must add plumbing, outlets, or a vent run, which takes more time and increases the price, especially when the laundry area is located far from existing utilities.

You’ll need the right pros for a tight stacked setup. A natural-gas plumber handles the water lines, drain, and any gas work, while an electrician installs the circuit the dryer needs. If venting or framing changes are required, hire a general contractor to patch the drywall or adjust the framing so that everything meets code and operates safely.

Permanent models need complete plumbing, electrical, and—for dryers—vent hookups. Portable units skip most of that and can run on a standard outlet with a temporary water connection. If your home already has a code-approved hookup, you just connect the new appliances. If not, hire a licensed pro to add the lines and vent so the machines run safely and efficiently.

Relocating a hookup costs between $500 and $5,000, as it may involve installing new outlets, gas lines, vents, and drain pipes. The price increases when the new location is far from existing utilities or requires additional framing and drywall work. Have licensed professionals evaluate your layout, provide a quote for the move, and handle the installation so that every component meets code and works safely.
