"Lalo Jimenez with Capital Palmetto Builders came out to my house to inspect our vinyl siding that had separated. The problem was it was at the very top of our two-story house. He did not have a ladder tall enough with him at the time. Mr. Jimenez could not have been better to work with and came back right away and fixed the problem. I highly recommend him and his company to anyone that needs them. Capital has amazing customer service and quality repair. I definitely recommend them."

"Our project manager, Manny, and crew supervisor, Jorge, did a great job with our roof replacement today! Manny was very communicative and helpful throughout the repair. Jorge and the crew were efficient and did a very thorough clean up when finished. Our only concerns revolve around the initial reason we scheduled a repair, which was due to a ceiling leak after a rain storm. The sales person that came out was very nice and informative. He told us that while he could not determine the source of our leak, we needed a new roof. However, in our naivete, we forgot to wait on our insurance assessor before making any decisions. Post insurance assessment, we had a hard time getting answers from either the project manager or sales manager, and just moved forward with the replacement hoping it fixed our issue. Long story short, while the level of service and overall customer service were great, we had a major repair done that may not even be related to our issue. Our roof likely could have waited for a repair. Service=excellent! I would 100% recommend, just make sure you actually need a new roof."

"Greg Martin is an excellent contractor/manager. He, his employees and his subcontractors maintained a smoke free, cuss-free presence. The quality of his crew's work was well above average to exceptional. Greg is an excellent communicator and throughout the four week renovation located many items that while not part of the stated contract did meet the stated goals of an inclusive renovation and correction of all discovered faults. His advice was sound and he would include alternatives that met the goals I had described. This renovation was of a 1,394 SF ranch home built in 1970 that had a partial renovation in 2004. All drywall was smoothed and imperfections removed. Areas with paneling were removed and replaced with drywall. Ceilings were scraped as needed and all walls and ceilings were first sealed then repainted in three coats and ceiling "popcorn" was applied for a uniform finish. All HVAC grills were cleaned and replaced with new including two return air filtered vents and two passive pass-through vents. A 400 SF family room addition (not included in home SF above) was treated to perfected wall surface, priming and painting. Moldings throughout the home were darkly stained oak. All moldings were either replaced or sealed and painted, likewise all doorframes. Both common and master bathrooms had all fixtures removed and plumbing relocated as needed prior to reinstalling fixtures. Many fixtures were new as well as new lighting. Excellent appearance and useability after completion. Kitchen and dining area flooring had a number of layers of floor finishes. These were removed to a common height, leveled and smoothed with some subfloor replaced due to age. All cabinets were removed for renovation, walls repaired with some drywall replacement. Walls were smoothed primed and painted as throughout the home. New cabinets were installed as well as countertops that permitted installation of new appliances. There were significant issues with plumbing in the kitchen that were resolved by relocating supply and drains to a new location and reinstalling. The overall fit and finish of the home was vastly improved by Greg Martin and his workers with Easy Does It Home Improvement. I whole heartedly endorse this crew for any home improvement - large or small."

"Barrs Woodworking gave me a quote I loved, and we started working together right away. Got the fence and siding fixed up in a few days and looks great! I cant even tell where the siding came off the house at all! Owner was pleasant to deal with and kept me in the loop each step of the way."

"they came by my house one mouth ago, and they offer they'er service and told me that i needed a new roof. i told them that i needed to replace it soon, then they said "well we can go up check it for you", and we can take pictures of the leak. so they did, and they are licensed so that gave me the comfort that they know what they are doing.  they gave me a price on the whole roof and example to me what they were going to do, and what materials were the best to use for this project.  they were great!"

"Outstanding. Will hire them for anything else I need done. Responsive, professional, considerate. Will continue to hire for other projects. I normally do not recommend companies, but this one is an exception. Found repairs the other companies missed."

"Mitch and his team were amazing to work with from estimate to installation! We wanted to replace ancient cyclone fencing with a scalloped picket fence. This style is popular on Cape Cod and Nantucket but not common in Columbia. We contacted a number of business during the bid process including several of the big name fence companies in town. Some never returned our call, others tried to talk us into putting up a different fence system. Porterhouse was a refreshing change. Mitch returned my initial call promptly, came to survey our property that week, and offered an estimate soon thereafter. He and his team were on time and committed to making sure the fence and gates were installed to our liking. This was not an easy project, but they did a fantastic job. Excellent communication the entire time. I would highly recommend Porterhouse and will be considering them for future projects."

"He did an exceptional job with the drywall. He is really a good drywaller and a good finisher. He is an exceptionally good contractor. He is a general contractor. He had a couple of good reviews and I had been trying to find a good drywaller and a good general contractor for sometime that was reasonably priced. I had this priced by two or three other people and they were extremely high. I'm an engineer, so I know what it's supposed to cost me to do this because I do construction for a living. So I was looking for somebody that was reliable and everything. He is very reliable. The thing that I really liked about him was he returned my phone calls and he is not late. He is prompt, he returns your phone calls. If he can't make it, he calls you or he emails you. He is just a nice guy. He went over and did some trim at my son's house last week and came in the day he said he was going to be. He said it will take about 4 hours, in 4 hours they were gone. He is just dependable and reliable and he is just a good guy. I personally liked him. He is just an honest young man trying to make a living. He cleans up and is very cautious. He puts paper down on everything when he works in your house. One time he wasn't over here and his guy came over and did some sanding of the drywall and I called and told him it wasn't right. He came back that night and fixed it. He told me that he wouldn't send his guys over anymore without him because apparently they weren't dependable. He was very upset that they did it wrong and he came over and fixed it that night. He really wants his business to take off and do well. He generally cares about how he comes into your home and how he leaves it. He is a single father. He couldn't come today to start the project because he has his girls. So I told him that's not a problem. He will come tomorrow and I know he'll be there. He is dependable. I don't have any bad thing to say about this guy and I'm really particular. My estimate wasn't very far off his at all. He stayed within my budget. He doesn't want paid until he is done. He doesn't ask for an advance. I'm satisfied. It's something you don't find very often. When he did that small drywall job for us he would come over after work in the evenings and sand it down and put another coat on because drywall get finished in stages. That's how he did for us. Unless, you're a professional drywaller and put on 20 min mud you can't finish it in a day. It's like four or five coats of mud on to get a smooth wall finished. So they had to put it on, sand it off, put it on, sand it off. He came over five or six times to get the wall right because he had to sand it and put it on, sand it and put it on. He would come after his workday was done. He would come over and do it. I know that the longer we wait the longer it is to finish. So I didn't have a problem with him coming over after work at all. I didn't care. He knew what he had to do to finish it. He didn't put it off. He didn't blow me off. He didn't give any wall that was half finished. He finished it. Drywall is hard to do and my drywall in my living room is beautiful because he took his time. So I highly recommend this guy. I had no problem with him. He didn't show that he didn't have the experience. I did ask him about a couple of things and he said, "That's not my expertise. I'd have to find a sub contractor." He is not afraid to tell you that he doesn't do that. He doesn't try and say, "Oh! I can do that" and then mess it up. The price was good. He was reasonable. A small job is going to be more money. Bigger job, maybe 10 to 15 days is going to be less money because he doesn't have to come and go and come and go. He is reasonably priced for the size of the job and that's a big deal. He really went above and beyond with that small drywall job because it wasn't enough to keep him busy, it was probably enough just to be a bother to him but he did it and the reason he did it was to gain our confidence so that we could maybe be a repeat customer. He took a job he didn't really like and wasn't going to make any money on because he is smart enough to know that that's how you get repeat customers. He is very professional. The only thing about punctuality is since he is a single father things come up for him because he does take care of his children. But if he can't come he calls and reschedules."
