Nate Hileman, the Pond estimator assigned to our project, worked with us over a period of several weeks to plan the project, identify and address the issues that might arise with our 100-year-old home, and answer my numerous questions. During the removal of our old roof, and the installation of the new one, Pond Field Supervisors Juan Lemus and Robert Kern were on call to supervise, troubleshoot, and ensure the crew had what they needed, when they needed it, to complete the work. And the crew who did the actual work - I cannot say enough good things about them! Seven guys who worked liked beavers for two 12-hour days to get the job done and done right. "The roof was replaced in a day and the gutters the next. The crew was in and out and all the interactions we had were pleasant on professional. We have a sunsail and it required them to install some anchors by doing some custom work included in the cost of the new roof. "Was searching for a Solatube dealer to repair or replace a defective dimmer switch and a "cloudy" prism that had been installed by a dealer that was no longer in business. Found Amazing Skylights booth at the Home Show at Dulles Town Center last March 2015.  The representative at the booth recommended I contact Richard Lindsay, the president of Amazing Skylights for response to my questions.  After speaking with him on the phone, I drove to his place of business with the prism and defective switch.  Wasn't sure what to expect, "showroom" fabrication facility or office.  Amazing Skylights operates out of a small bungalow in a light industrial area.  They have an office and parts storage there.  Mr. Lindsay was not there when I arrived but Mike, his able installer was there.  Mike offered me coffee or water while he examined the prism.  He disassembled it and cleaned it thoroughly while demonstrating how to do it at home if needed in the future. Rich, Mr. Lindsay, arrived and searched his web source for the dimmer switch and found he had one in stock.  The switch cost $60.00.  They did not take credit cards and I only had $40.00 with me.  "No problem. Send me the balance when you get home", Mr. Lindsay said.  Although, I can't comment on their actual installation of Solatubes or other skylights, I would definitely consult them for such work in the future based on their helpful courteous attitude and trust which they extended to me.

"They were very patient and helpful with all of the issues that were present while replacing my roof and gutters. I had 2x6 boards, rather than plywood, as my roof substrate and a large amount was rotted out. They spent extra days on the project, communicated very well and sent pictures. The extra items I requested, the wood replacement (including all the gutter attachment boards) and some cracked cedar siding were taken care of well and for a reasonable price."

"I thought the work needed was way to expensive compared to other estimates I received who were willing to do the same thing with one exception (adding a closet door).  Even if that was not a factor, I would have thought they were way to expensive for me. My bathroom is very small.  I had a friend of mines have her bathroom done and it was very upscale with all the trimmings.  Her bathroom is twice the size of mines and it cost her only $10,000 to get it done.  I don't want fancy or upscale (lack of better term) just nice.  So I thought the price was a bit much.   I think they are a reputable company, just not for me.  Overall, the absolute deciding factor was how many "questions" were asked that I thought were to personal (where do I work, what do I do, etc).  I intensely dislike this!  Even if the price was great, I would have said, "no" because of that alone!  He probably meant no harm, but due to the time we live in, it is a little spooky when people ask you questions such as these that you don't really know.  It's not that I can't afford to pay the estimated price, I just choose not to.  I want to have both bathrooms done at some point,  but not at $24,000 (estimate).  My bathrooms are small.  If they were larger I could understand.  But they are small.  Again, I do feel this is a reputable company, but I just didn't want to pay that price for a small bathroom nor do I like personal questions from people I don't really know."

"JW Home Improvement performed the renovation of two bathrooms over two years ago. One of the two bathrooms appeared to spring a leak twice near the guest toilet, but we did not see the puddle develop. We called JW since they did the original toilet (+wax ring), subfloor, and tile install. Scheduling sent an estimator (Jesse) to come out and look at the project and a tech (Marcos) was sent over the following week. Both guys went above and beyond what we expected. We hoped JW would work with us on the price for the work if the issue stemmed from an original install issue. Luckily, Jesse was understanding and even though we couldn't tell if it was an install issue or breakdown of the toilet itself (not their fault) until the toilet's removal, he worked with us on the price anyway; this was also despite the fact that we were beyond the 1-year warranty on the work. (Kuddos #1). We were scheduled for 4 hours of work. Marcos assessed the area and did not find a viable bathroom related source for the leak. During several test flushes, he checked the seals, toilet bowl connection points, the water line, and under our sink. No leak after 25 minutes. Likely it may have been our 4 yr. old being stealthy. He recommended holding off on unnecessary work and calling JW if a leak was observed again. (Kuddos #2) Then, when we were preparing to sort out payment, Jesse came back and told us not to worry about the cost since nothing had to be done, which surprised us since they still sent Marcos out. Another company may have not said anything and re-installed the toilet anyway. (Kuddos #3) We will definitely be calling JW again."
