"Bob is very customer service oriented and provided timely and professional service. I messaged him on a Saturday via Home Advisor regarding my dryer not starting. He called me later that day and scheduled an appoint for the next day (Sunday). He diagnosed my dryer as needing a new control board which I agreed to have him order a replacement. That same day he replaced the door tension kit on my dishwasher. Three days later he came back to my home with a reconditioned dyer control board and offered to install it (with a two year warranty) and replace the dryer bearing kit (at no extra charge) instead of waiting two weeks for delivery of a new control board. In addition, he replaced the dryer vent hose and cleaned the dryer at no additional charge. I will definitely reach out to Best Care Appliance Service for appliance service in the future."

"When my mother's Whirlpool dryer stopped working I called Sick Appliance Repair and left a message. It was later in the day and I didn't expect to hear back until the next day, but Larry returned my call and said he could come out that evening after finishing another job. He arrived when he said he would and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. He was kind and friendly and took the time to answer questions about other issues. I would definitely call him again and recommend him to others."

"Juan (at JCL) was excellent and very thoughtful in working with us to help alleviate our a/c hvac issues at home. While many of the other firms only proposed in replacing our unit JCL saved us time and money by only replacing and repairing several problem ducts that worked out great. Would recommend them based on Juan’s honesty and not trying to upsell us on things we didn’t need for the home that others repairmen didn’t bother to suggest. Service was also very quick and clean given the amount of work involved in the attic."

"While we are not in the market for an actual home project currently, we needed to understand replacement costs in the current home construction environment. The midcrest folks were super helpful and willing to provide this information. I would certainly consider working with them in the future when a project arises!!"

"I hired Yari based on positive Angie's List reviews.  Overall, I'd give him a luke warm rating, and MIGHT use him again, though would probably investigate some other options first.  The work done overall was good, however...

The clean-up was poor.  There was a LOT of small broken tile bits and dust left over after they replaced the kitchen tiles.  I have cats (as they saw), and they could have very easily tracked sharp small bits of broken tile on their paws from the loads of it left on the kitchen floor and in the grooves where the grout is.  When they repaired the broken stucco outside, they left dust and debris at the site and obviously threw the remaining water/plaster/mortar/whatever mix through a fence and into my neighbor's yard (am going to try and attach pix - I think I can do that here).  The price he quoted me was for parts and labor ASSUMING I had all those parts already.  I had to go myself with one of his workers to a nearby plumbing supply store to pick up needed items.

He was very responsive in person and by phone, and very cordial and prompt.  The work was decent enough.  I don't know enough about home repairs and contracting to know how fair the price was, but it seemed to be in the ballpark.

Overall recommendation : Proceed, but with caution, and make sure you're clear from the outset what exactly your needs are and what exactly he's promising to provide.  And make sure they clean up properly before leaving."

"The service was amazingly fast and complete. The dryer wasn't producing any hot air. I requested quotes on Angie's List and quickly received a call from Bek at So Cal Appliance Repair. Fortunately, he was working another job locally. Within the hour, he was at our house and within another 30 minutes he identified the problem, had the parts on hand and completed the repair. Within 2 hours after I requested quotes, the dryer was fixed. Never had that happen before....ever. I highly recommend Beck. He's knowledgeable, personable and his prices are very reasonable."

"Gilbert called me very soon after I submitted my request on the website. He was very flexible when scheduling an appointment to install a washer and dryer at my residence. On the day of the installation, Gilbert and an assistant arrived on time and they got right to work. They were so friendly and explained exactly what they would need to do and continued to update me while they were working. This was an excellent experience and I would gladly hire them for work in the future and I would surely use "servicemagic" again for other needs."

FAQs for appliance (microwave oven) installation and replacement projects in Newport Coast, CA

A pro can finish the job in one to three hours. Countertop models are the quickest, but built-in, drawer, and over-the-range units take longer because the installer may need to run a new outlet, modify cabinets, or add venting. Any add-ons can push the timeline closer to the three-hour mark. Hiring a licensed installer ensures the wiring is safe and the appliance operates at peak performance.

Because an over-the-range microwave doubles as a range hood, it needs proper venting. You can opt for a recirculating model that filters and recirculates air back into the kitchen, or a ducted unit that exhausts outdoors. Are you unsure which route suits your cooking style? Ask your installer for guidance before making a purchase.

Only microwaves labeled “over-the-range” have the built-in venting and lighting that’s necessary for safe, code-compliant use above a stove. Countertop models don’t have those safeguards. Before you swipe your card, have a licensed microwave installer confirm you’re choosing the right unit for the space and ensure compliance with local codes.

It’s best not to install a countertop microwave in your cabinets. Countertop models aren’t designed for use in an enclosed cabinet, and blocking those vents can trap moisture or even create a fire hazard. A built-in or drawer microwave is designed for tight spaces. Run your plans by an installer to make sure you’re buying the right style for the spot.

You don’t need an electrician if the outlet already meets the microwave’s power needs and sits in the right spot. In that case, you’re good to go ahead with the installation. If the outlet is undersized, outdated, or too far away, hire a licensed electrician to install a new one and ensure everything is code-compliant.

With routine care, most microwaves last between five and 10 years. To help them reach their maximum lifespan, wipe up spills immediately, wash the grease filter periodically, avoid using metal dishware, and close the door gently. Those simple habits reduce malfunctions and keep the appliance running smoothly for the long haul.
