"Richard, the Sales Associate, came out to our home for the estimate exactly at the time he said he would be there. He also brought samples for us to look at while he was measuring the rooms. Richard was extremely pleasant and informative and we scheduled the work that same day. The installers, two gentlemen whose names I unfortunately don't remember, called to let me know they were on their way and they also arrived at the time promised. Those two men worked extremely hard and fast and did an excellent job! They even pointed out to me some changes they wanted to make that made the carpet look so much better where it would meet at tile the floors in kitchen and entry ways. On a side note, Carpet Barn had also installed our tile floors in the kitchen and bathrooms several years back so we knew we were in good hands."

"The salesperson was easy to work with, the product has lasted well for 14 years.  However, the installation was a nightmare.
Fried outsourced the installation work.  The installer seemed experienced.  The assistant was a licensed plumber helping the installer on his slow times.  The head installer arrived late every day (around 10AM) and took long (1 or 2 hour) breaks each day leaving the plumber assistant to do the work.  Our entire breakfast nook was installed by the plumber and a young woman assistant while the installer was on one of his breaks.  The installation took 2+ weeks and we were really fed up having to live in our bedroom for all that time!
When the work was finally completed, the head installer put our large hutch on a piece of cardboard to move it from the living room area back into the dining area.  He did NOT use a dolly and had already complained about having to move furniture.  (My husband and I moved most of the furniture out of the living room and dining room.)  As he pushed the hutch toward the place it belonged, one of the metal feet came off the cardboard and left a gash across the dining room that was at least 4 feet long.  After attempting to replace just the damaged wood with no success they had to remove all the wood from the dining room and lay new wood in the entire room.  This meant another week of removal and installation.
They used damaged unfinished quarter round at the base of the walls that they got from Home Depot and didn't cover the nail holes.  It looked terrible.  We withheld our final payment until someone came to repair the quarter round, remove all the glue that was stuck on the wood and secure the slats of wood that were lifting up from the cement flooring underneath. This took another week or more. We have documented letters of complaint in our file of this experience.
I realize that this was 12 years ago and things might have changed by now but we will never do business with G Fried again.  We just had wood floors installed in two rooms by International Wood Floors and we can highly recommend them.

"I had attempted to contacted approx. 10 contractors before contacting Bryan. Of those, only a handful actually responded, or were willing to show up. And those that did, did not have the vision to accomplish our goals, and would simply throw out an outlandish estimate, which only seemed intended to persuade us to not do the project. I have had nightmare experiences before with contractors, not showing up, projects being delayed, and having little to no communication with the provider. This was not the case with Bryan. He was in consistent in communication via phone/text/or email. In addition, there were some unexpected things that occurred during the process, and Bryan was always reasonable on solutions to resolve. In addition, he offered some suggestions we hadn't thought about throughout the process. And the subcontractors he used were also professional and did amazing work. Especially A&M tile company. The overall cost of the project probably wasn't the cheapest..... However we had premium service with premium results. Bryan was also throughout in his initial estimate, so there weren't any surprises when it came time to submit our final payment. No regrets."
