"We hired North crest Concrete to tear out our existing driveway and replace it and a sidewalk with pea gravel concrete. They did a superb job. I would definitely hire them again. They also put a grate in the driveway to collect water and a drain pipe from the grate. They sealed it and we are so very pleased with our new driveway!"

"David and his crew did an excellent job repairing the concrete and brick work at my house. The concrete porch was old, hard and thick and was very difficult to remove. The finished results were great. David is not the lowest price company you'll find, but the value and finish you need when doing something as permanent as concrete is important. So paying a little more is well worth the investment. In addition, David is a great communicator and utilized text and phone calls to keep me informed on who, want and when things would be happening at my house. I would definitely use his company again the next time I need this type of service."

"Mario was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was very neat and made sure to clean up each evening when he was done. He was very professional the whole time. Several times my kids commented about how nice he was to them. And my dog and cat enjoyed the treats he gave them. I would definitely hire him again for any of our painting needs!!!"

"I got three estimates and ‘58 Foundation was by far the best. They explained all my options and worked within my budget. I needed foundation repair in specific areas under a load bearing wall and around my front door. They showed up on time. The foreman, Cam, kept me informed on the process. He along with the crewmen, Jordan and Keylin were courteous and professional and left the work area even cleaner than they found it. My house is over 100 yrs old and when I walk around now, the floors feel very solid."

"J.C. called back in a day or two after I left a message. He scheduled an on site estimate and explained what he would do and the possible added costs that might be needed depending on how the porch had settled over the years. He followed up with an estimate in writing, and scheduled the work once I had approved the invoice. He finished the job in four days, working each day with his crew, and keeping me up to date on what was done and anything he found that required a decision. The work site was clean when he left it, and he advised on any future work that might be needed. He even primed part of the new wood that the gutter attaches to. Over all it was a very professional job and I'm very satisfied with the results and the price was reasonable for the work performed. <br />"

"We were absolutely delighted with the results. Aubrey Black, II and his team were wonderful to work with. My initial contact by phone led to a discussion of options, emailed photos of examples, and a scheduled visit for an estimate. When we committed, the project was scheduled and we were kept informed throughout the week what would transpire each day. They were always here when they said they would be. This group takes great pride in their work, and encourages checks and input along the way so there are no surprises at the end. I was amazed at the extent to which adjacent areas were protected from the materials and processes they were using. When they left, there was not one shred of evidence that this had been a work area the day before. And, at the end of each work day, the area was cleaned up as well. Friendly, personable, and very professional, this group does great work at a good price."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Niota, TN

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
