"Justin was excellent. His skill and knowledge of any area of plumbing were great. We had just moved and needed total replumbing of the house and his bid was very competitive. We ran into so many "surprises" as you do with an older home and nothing fazed him. He worked many extra hours and was able to fix them all and still stay within his original bid. He was punctual, professional, knowledgeable and not afraid of hard work. He was so pleasant and explained everything. He was very nice to have around the house and we recommend him highly."

"No problems with the quality of the work or the time it took, but it was surprisingly expensive. So much so that I almost regretted having the work done. The plumber found the shut-off valves inoperable and began replacing them without telling me about it or the additional cost. I should have looked over his shoulder more often and asked more questions, but I did not. Any repairman beginning additional repairs without asking really rubs me the wrong way and leads to a "B" rating at best and a "No" on hiring again. Learn from my mistake: make certain that you do your research on pricing and agree on a price range and scope of work with Geiler (or anyone, for that matter) before they begin the work."

"First I would like to say that everyone I dealt with at ICSR was great! From Erika who made the appointments to Jeremiah who did the inspection, to Terry and his crew. They were all friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable. Jeremiah explained in detail what needed done in my crawlspace. There was a lot of damage due to termites in the past. I knew this was what needed done as I had another Company look at it as well. They backed out because they thought the crawlspace was to narrow to get the work done. I agreed to Jeremiah's plan and about two weeks later Larry and his crew came out to do the work. I will say it again, Larry and his crew were great. They worked so hard and in horrible heat and humidity. They were always friendly and smiled when I saw them. Larry always let me know what they got done that day, and what the plan was for the next. They cleaned up the work area, and took away any and all debris. I have full faith in ICSR and Larry and his crew that the repairs were done right. I am so glad the plan with the other company fell through, as I think I ended up with the best!"

"Mike Craw came with someone he was training.  They arrived on time, took up the toilet, replaced the wax seal, and then raised and leveled the toilet.  Our pipes are old so he explained that eventually the pipes would probably have to be replace because of corrosion but that it could wait.  He then cleaned out the main drain from the toilet which greatly improved the flushing capacity.  I would definitely use Craw Plumbing again."

".From the first call they made me feel comfortable. The salesman Doug set a date and keep it.  Doug came out looked at my basement, give me two choices told me about each in detailed. Gave me my free estimate and no pressure thanked me for having him in my home and to let him know what I thought.  Four days later another company called the day before our meeting and said he could give me estimate over the phone if I could describle what was happening. His bid was $9000.00 with out seeing the job.  Americrawl bid was $1500 and $1206. I went with the $1500and a appointment was set. In the meantime My husband and I had to take down some removable walls in doing so we found that years ago the system the were going to do was already done to a point. I called Doug and told him that I thought maybe the job won't be as big as first thought. Doug had me send him pictures of the area. Turn out was right , but the appointment was keep and instead of 30' of pipe they only had to do 10'. The three men that came covered the area the floor all the way to door, and cleaned up you would have not known they were even here. I ever had anthing leak again I will call Americrawl. Also my bill will be adjusted do to the difference in pipe. They didn't even say anything about the bill I had to ask. <br />"

"I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

"Not well. It was a young guy who did not bring the proper tools to complete the job. He said that he had forgot the rotor rooter and would need to go get it. Well, some how that changed to him saying that he tried to unplug it with some other piping tool he had but couldn't clear it and if we still wanted it clear, we would need to call back and set it up with John for an additional fee of over $200. I was not happy about this. Me and my husband decided to call a professional well service company and they told us that our well was fine. It was not going dry and what needed to be done was that the well pump had to be replaced. That company was C&J Well and Drilling from Brownsburg. If you have a well, I would highly recommend them, not John & John. We have been customers of John & John for years. They were always my go to plumbing company and I would typically probably rate them an A-B for regular plumbing service. After this apt. though, I could not ever give them a professional rating like that again. The young man was very friendly, but had to stay on the phone with his boss to figure out what the problem was. I don't think it was all his fault. I think they should have sent someone with more experience in servicing wells. I do think it's his fault for not bringing the rotor rooter though. I don't think it's appropriate to come and complete service without the proper tools. I gave the office a detailed explanation of the problems that I was experiencing and feel that they should have at least came prepared to fix the problem. I think carrying a rotor rooter should be a necessary, basic tool to carry as a plumber. Maybe I'm wrong. Just my thoughts. Unfortunately, I will not be able to use them again. I hope they are able to make some improvements to the company."

"After several internet searches for contractors that could assess and correct foundation drainage issues, I discovered the Peters Group. Chris was remarkably responsive to come out and look at my property within a few days of me contacting him. He discussed that installing some corrugated drain pipes and two French drains would correct the identified drainage issue. Chris provided a quote and was hired. He began work a few weeks later. My property was such that all work hand to be manually "hand trenched" using shovels. After the first day of the two day project, there were heavy rains that night. Chris's work fixed the primary problem that I had hired him for, but with the heavy rains, an additional drainage problem was discovered. Chris quickly responded by ordering additional materials and expanded his scope of work to include this new area. So, on his second and final day of work, Chris completed the initial project and also completed the additional work. Chris Peters represents the very definition of "professional". He is responsive and takes personal pride in his work and satisfying the customer. I am eagerly awaiting for the next downpours so that I can admire my new drainage system. Chris offers a full warranty of his work, so, I have no worries. Please know, that if you require any drainage or irrigation work, you will never find anyone as honest and professional as The Peters Group."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in North Manchester, IN

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
