"Radon Gone provided exceptional service from start to finish. They were extremely accommodating, even allowing me to adjust my appointment at the last minute. Ken and his team explained the entire process thoroughly, honored the exact price quoted with no hidden fees, and demonstrated the highest level of professionalism throughout. They worked neatly, kept everything clean, and were genuinely kind and courteous the entire time. Three days later, they returned to collect the commercial radon tester and confirmed that my radon levels were now well below the recommended threshold. After contacting several competitors, it was clear that Radon Gone stood out for their honesty, professionalism, and customer care. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking radon mitigation services."

"It went great. I highly recommend them. They were a pleasure to deal with. The person that came out for the estimate answered all of my questions. The estimate was fair. The work was done on schedule and with no problem. At completion, everything was explained to me. I used their electrician which worked out fine. After completion the radon test showed that my level was now undetectable."

"I had PureTech install a radon gas abatement system which lowered my levels from the high teens all the way down below 2 on average. Zach, the technician, was super helpful and great to work with. They even leave this really nice package behind. Results speak for themselves. I recommend PureTech."

"WI Radon and its owner Jerome were fabulous. He was so knowledgeable about our specific radon mitigation needs. He worked with us closely to customize the system that would best work for us. We were so impressed with the entire process from initial testing to the final inspection of our new system. We would recommend him first if you suspect you have radon issues."

"I found this company on Angie's List and contacted Paul for a quote. He came out right away for an estimate and scheduled the appointment for a week or so later. His sons did the work and they were very courteous and efficient, called to let me know they were running 10 minutes behind and did a great job cleaning up after the system was installed, Paul came back on a Sunday to pick up the test and got the results a day later. The entire process was easy and fast and I am extremely happy with the results. I would HIGHLY recommend!"

"Wonderful. Certainly was not a job I could have done myself. Prior to installation, radon levels were well above safety levels. After installation levels were way below hazardous levels. I was very satisfied."

"Tom and Josh arrived on the day and time promised. They were both very polite, professional and worked extremely well together. They explained exactly what they were doing and why they were doing it! They installed the radon Mitigation system and went above and beyond expectations. They cleaned up after themselves. After the job was complete, it looks like it has always been here. What more can you ask? I will definitely recommend DC Mitigation for anyone who needs this service!"

FAQs for radon gas abatement projects in North Prairie, WI

The only way to know whether your home or water supply contains radon is to schedule a professional test. A qualified radon inspector will collect samples, deliver lab-verified results, and explain the findings for $150 to $800. Once you know your exact levels, you and your radon mitigation pro can choose the right system and tackle the problem before it affects your family’s health.

Both roles tackle radon, but they focus on different steps. Inspectors test your home, interpret the results, and determine whether levels exceed EPA guidelines. Mitigation pros design and install the system that lowers those levels. Some companies do both, but the skills and equipment differ, so always verify that the person you hire is properly certified for the specific service you need.

Installing a mitigation unit fixes radon problems by reducing indoor gas levels to established safe standards. A system designed and installed by a mitigation expert, tailored to your home's specific layout and foundation, guarantees effective radon reduction. This expert installation ensures consistent performance over time while safeguarding your indoor air quality.

Open windows and doors do not reduce radon levels because they trigger a pressure imbalance that draws radon-laden air into your home. This practice fails to control radon concentration and can even worsen the issue. An active suction mitigation system provides a proven, safe, and effective solution to reliably reduce radon levels.

Radon mitigation systems generally last between 10 and 30 years, depending on system type and maintenance. Passive systems endure the longest because they have no moving parts, whereas active systems, which use a fan, require fan replacement every 5 to 10 years. System components, such as PVC pipes, seals, and fittings, can remain effective for decades when paired with periodic inspections and proper maintenance.

Radon mitigation systems consume between 300 and 3,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on fan size and system design. On average, an active radon fan draws 100 to 300 watts continuously, which translates to roughly 876 kWh annually, and adds $30 to $300 to your energy bill each year. Choosing a high-efficiency fan and ensuring tight sealing around pipes helps minimize these ongoing costs.
