We take great pride in our experience, expertise, quality, and customer service that we provide to meet the consumer's needs. It is our mission to provide excellent workmanship and complete customer satisfaction from start to completion of a project. In order to understand the needs and expectations of our customers, we take great care to work and communicate with every customer in a professional manner. Our reputation is based on service, safety, and quality, regardless of how large or small the job.

"Review of Rain and Shine Masonry (Owner: Sean Boyne): After Sean waterproofed my foundation and installed a French drain, both failed within weeks, moisture and mold worsened, and a previously dry wall began leaking, leaving me with severe mold and massive repair costs. Despite a contractual 20-year warranty, Sean ignored all my messages and even a police inquiry. His listed ?home and business addresses? are only mailboxes, seemingly to avoid accountability. The project also involved a roof replacement that ended up costing nearly triple a typical price. Midway through, he said my roof plywood was below code, and that I needed major attic reconstruction, including rebuilding all of the roof valleys. The reconstruction turned out to be quite limited. I believe he overcharged by tens of thousands. He first underquoted, then added thousands once work began on the foundation project. Sean is in breach of contract and warranty."

Ken Cook has been installing residential roofs and ventilation systems for over 35 years. Cook's Roofing is certified by the Certain Teed Corporation to operate as a select shingle roofing company. This allows our company to extend material and labor guarantees for longer periods than the competition. Cook's has two crews and two lead roofers are certified Master Shingle Applicators. Our foreman has been employed by us for over 13 years. According to the building inspector's office, Cook's pulls more permits for roof construction in the town of Bellingham than any other contractor. In 1992 when many of the shingle manufactures were having trouble with their fiberglass shingles, the ASTM (American Society of Testing and Materials) developed testing for shingles that showed many problems with roof shingles. It was right then and there that Ken Cook decided to install the best shingles available and have quality that people could depend on; CertainTeed is the best company for their materials and warranties. They have taught us every aspect of the roofing industry from proper installation techniques to knowledge of how to know the difference between shingles that are of a high product quality and mediocrity. Ken Cook has been a resident of Bellingham for over 50 years. He is an active member of the First Baptist Church of Bellingham serving Christ and the community. He also serves on the finance committee of the same church. Ken is married; they have 2 daughters and 2 grandsons. Ken loves Jesus, (John 5:24) his family and roofing. The entire Cook's family would love to serve you. Additional email - cooksroofing@comcast.net. Additional DBA - Cook's Home Improvements Inc. Phone: 508-966-0306 Fax: 508-966-2233

"I had leaky roof. Of 3 contractors who came to take a look, only Ramon from NMTI pointed out an uneven surface that seemed to be good place to look for an issue. I appreciate hearing specific ideas when there’s a problem, so we chose to work with NMTI. Sure enough, underneath the shingles on that section of roof, there was some water damaged and warped plywood. The NMTI team addressed that and re-flashed some skylights at the same time. The team was all very pleasant. They scheduled the job quickly, once we agreed on details and I would work with them again. Thanks, guys!"

"Home repair gone wrong… Do NOT use Connell for any home repairs! If you do make that mistake, do NOT hand over your final payment until ALL work has been completed to your satisfaction. A large dead tree uprooted and fell on the corner of my house during a rainstorm in December 2023. It caused damage to my siding, roof and chimney. A neighbor came to look at the damage and suggested a company to repair the roof and siding. It was Connell Roofing. I had not used them previously and would NEVER use them again for any work! They told me it would take 4-5 days to complete the work. They brought in a dumpster and began setting up their equipment in June 2024. Things seemed to be good. I was working remotely so could monitor the progress. On day 1, I had a woman contractor ask if she could use my toilet. Then the next day the same thing. Then a man asked to use my toilet. I decided to call the head company and they told me that workers should be going to the bathroom when they leave my house for their lunch break. In the 7 days that they worked on my house, they NEVER left for lunch. They were there at 7:00 am and left around 7:00-30 pm. When I went downstairs to my kitchen, I several times witnessed male workers walking towards the woods on the side and rear of my property looking over their shoulders. Then I saw them at least twice standing in the woods on my property about 25-50 feet from my lawn urinating. I reported that to Connell. You would think that if a company was going to spend 5 days working at your house they would bring a port-o-potty. I can only imagine them defecating in my woods had I not been working from home. Who knows, they may have done that while I was not looking. I prefer NOT to think about it. They played a boom box super loud! Even with my windows closed and A/C on, it was noisy to work in my office. One of my neighbors actually moved out of their house on the 3rd day and did not return until after the work was finished. The workers worked too long a day. I am used to getting things done after work in the evening in my yard like mowing and gardening, but that was all but impossible with the crew working until 7:30 pm each night. To replace my roof, they needed to remove all the old nails. Although they used a tarp to catch them as they were removed, and a magnetic equipment on wheels to gather them each night, I spent the next several months picking up nails all over my yard which must have numbers at least 200! I have a 9 year old daughter who often runs in the grass barefoot. I could only imagine the hospital visit if and bill if she stepped on one and it went through her heel. I have a small mudroom in which I built a beautiful wooden bench that I stained. When the men came in to reside that area (it was previously sided by the former owner), I watched one man feel how smooth the bench surface was. The workers then proceeded to stand on the bench the next 2 days working without a blanket and scuffed the heck out of the surface! I had to sand it several times and recoat it, but the dents and scrapes will remain. All of my gutters and downspouts needed to be replaced. It sounds easy to put 2 pieces of gutter pipes together, but if your workers are not properly trained, and there is a lack of supervision and inspection by Connell, problems will arise. The day the gutters were finished we had a heavy downpour. I went outside to see how the new gutters held up. The one by the garage was gushing water out of its sides for who knows why. When I looked a little closer I could see that the pipes were connected backwards, so the top piece was outside the bottom piece. Had that gutters been inspected, the problem would have been noticed before it rained. Although the workers used a tarp to shield my front door while removing the old siding, they did not protect when they put the new siding up. I had scuffs all over my black door so it needed to be repainted. When Connell sent a painter, he was not a professional. He clearly missed spots with the brush, and you could see that he did not have enough paint on his roller when he rolled the paint on. I called Connell several times then and then months later to get it repainted again. A few days after he painted it, the paint started shipping off. I had not touched it, not had there been a storm, it just was not painted right. 14 months of excuses and my door remains unfinished. I wanted to delay a portion of my final payment at the end of work in June 2024 until my door had been repainted to my satisfaction, but was heavily pressured to pay every penny then, and was guaranteed that the repair would be made to my satisfaction and soon. The workers in the head office talk a good game and are great at making excuses for their workers’ work but are slow/unresponsive to fix problems. Final opinion: DO NOT USE CONNELL FOR ANY REPAIR WORK."

Welcome to Ranch Roofing! Our goal is to provide our customers with the highest level of service and satisfaction. Please contact owner Bob O'Sullivan today for friendly, personalized and award winning service. 12 Months no interest, no payment, same as cash (ask for details).

"We are writing to express our sincere gratitude for the outstanding service we recently received. Ranch Roofing installed our roof back in 2012. Fast forward to 2025, when we had damage to our ridge vent, we called Ranch Roofing, and within 10 minutes had a call back from the owner, Bob. He said he would have it looked at and fixed, but to our surprise, in a matter of a few days, he sent his crew, who ripped the entire ridge vent off and replaced it free of charge. We cannot say enough positive things about Bob, his Crew, and this Company. Thank you Bob- Your quick response and generosity are much appreciated! Sincerely, Maryann and Randy D. "

FAQs for natural slate roofing installation and replacement projects in North-attleboro, MA

A slate roof features thin tiles of natural stone installed over a solid deck and underlayment. Formed under intense heat and pressure, slate is exceptionally durable and delivers a distinctive, high-end look. Because the material weighs far more than asphalt, most homes need added structural support before installation.

While upfront costs are higher and routine inspections are a must, many homeowners choose slate for its unmatched longevity and curb appeal.

Slate stands out for its 50- to 200-year life span, low maintenance, and classic aesthetic. It’s fire-resistant, energy-efficient, and often boosts resale value.

On the flip side, slate runs far more per square foot than asphalt, weighs up to four times as much, and demands a contractor who specializes in the material. Tiles can crack on impact, and repairs cost more because the work is slow and precise. If your budget and structure can handle it, slate delivers top-tier performance for generations.

Natural and synthetic slate aim for a premium, stone-like appearance, whereas asphalt focuses on affordability. Real slate runs $10 to $30 per square foot installed and lasts up to 200 years; synthetic slate costs $10 to $15 and tops out at 50 to 100 years.

Standard asphalt averages $3 to $8 per square foot and needs replacement every 20 to 30 years. If you want the slate look without the full price tag—or extra roof weight—synthetic is a solid middle ground.

With routine inspections and prompt repairs, a natural slate roof can last well beyond 100 years; some hard-slate installations reach the 200-year mark. Soft slate falls in the 50- to 125-year range, and synthetic products last 50 to 100 years.

Remember, flashing, fasteners, and the underlying structure may need attention sooner than the stone itself. Severe hail or fallen limbs can also shorten life span, so schedule periodic checkups with a slate-qualified roofer.

If you plan to stay in your home long term—or want a standout selling point—slate delivers strong value. Although installation costs are high, owners often recoup 60% to 70% at resale and enjoy lower replacement cycles than asphalt. The stone’s durability, energy efficiency, and timeless curb appeal also appeal to eco-conscious buyers because fewer roofs end up in landfills. Just be sure your framing can handle the weight and that you budget for occasional specialty repairs.

Skip the DIY climb if you have a slate roof. Slate may be tough against the weather, but a single misplaced step can crack a tile and create a leak path. The surface also turns slick when wet, upping the risk of injury. Professional crews use staging and hook ladders that spread weight across multiple slates, protecting both the roof and the worker. To inspect or repair slate, call a roofer who specializes in the material.
