"Had a soffit/front porch bead board repair done where some of the bead boards had buckled. Instead of pulling enough bead board down to re-install properly, the grooves (tongue and groove) were rip sawed off and caulk was used to fill the gaps. Naturally, with expansion and contraction, the caulk separated from the joints and led to several unsightly areas. An offer was made to repaint, however, we do not feel as that will work over time. We are going to rip the entire area down and replace with new bead board as the multiple coats of paint (including interior grade paint) that were slapped on are unsightly in their own right. On a good note, we had bead board added to the balance of the house and the work that was completed within the allotted time frame (we had to do some of the finish work ourselves) does look good and we are happy with that. I will say that I should have been more diligent on oversight of the job. Tongue and groove is meant to allow for expansion and contraction. As the grooves were sawed off of the planks, gaps were inevitable. Update 1/25/2019: Mr Handyman returned, tore down all of the originally repair porch ceiling (previously repaired) and properly installed new bead board (purchased by us) after painting it at their shop. We are very pleased to provide this update and are very happy now with the porch ceiling."

"Magic! Mr. Kevin and his team are amazing. The transition is breathtaking. And, the new kitchen floor matches exactly. Mr. Kevin came to the estimate appointment on time and was very informative. Left a written and signed estimate before departing. Although English is not Mr. Kevin's native language, he speaks very well. Be ready for dust - and that has nothing to do with Mr. Kevin's team!! This is just a dusty process and although the house was emptied of furniture and the flooring team masked off the adjoining spaces and closets...dust is just sneaky. Mr. Kevin and team came in and began the sanding process and prepared the kitchen floor by cutting out the old flooring and sub-floor, and then laying the new oak planks. The wood needs to acclimate to the house for seven days, which is great because it allowed me to mark any boards that I felt looked funny. Mr. Kevin left me tape to mark the boards. Seven days later Mr. Kevin and his team returned. At this point my dog and I had to be out of the house (due to the fumes that come from the finish), so a key was left in a lock box for Mr. Kevin. At this point they tightened up and nailed the new flooring; put filler in the old floor where needed; sanded; and put down the Swedish finish. If you want your floors shiny - tell them. Mine are matte. Three coats of finish total. Now here is the BIG thumbs up for Mr. Kevin!! The carpenter installing the new kitchen called me specifically to tell me how GREAT Mr. Kevin is, because without asking he suggested that he not put the third coat of finish on the kitchen floor until all the cabinets and appliances are in place. He will return at that time to make sure the floor has not been scraped or scratched...and THEN put on the third coat of finish. THAT is a real pro and the other workman recognized it, too!! Highly recommend this company!!"

"I was recently seeking a contractor on Angi for an urgent interior paint project at my home with quick turnaround time. This bedroom paint project included wall paint (2 colors; 1 accent wall), wall baseboard trim repair + paint, door trim repair + paint, door paint, and a plumbing panel replacement + paint. When I posted the request on Angi, Eugene from Honeycomb Construction called me within a minute after posting (Wow!). I explained my situation (baby on the way/arriving in weeks, nesting) and project details, and Eugene stopped by the same day to get a good look at room needing paint + repairs. Eugene was able to meet my familyâ s needs to get this room ready within one week. Although the estimated job timeline slid out by one day due to factors out of Eugeneâ s control (cold room on the basement floor, so paint takes longer to dry between coats), he did an excellent job with all the promised work: the paints of coat were even and full, the lines between the two colors of paint were crisp and clean, and the baseboard trim was looking sharp! Eugene does great work, heâ s really responsive and communicative throughout the process, heâ s really professional, and he is very kind. I will be hiring Eugene and Honeycomb Construction again for future home projects. Thank you!"

"We received three estimates on this work, and SD Water Damage/Restoration was almost 5K less than the two others, who were also on Angie's List. The workers arrived on time (or slightly early) for the estimate meeting and on work days. The woodwork was outstanding, and the workmen even made small repairs at no cost on several drawers. Our impression of Mr. Bennett, who did the actual woodwork, was that he was a craftsman of the highest quality and took pride in his work on every level. If we had it to do again, we would have draped off the living room, as the sanding required extensive cleaning afterward. We would recommend this company for honesty, integrity and value to anyone."
