Even though septic draining is not normally one of the jobs that this company does, they agreed to come out and save the day for us (in the middle of the night!!). Not only did they finish right on schedule, but they understood my desire to stay within budget, and never tried to pressure me to overspend or increase costs. They did not start construction until all of the materials were in hand, or in stock, which made the renovation go even smoother. I also had some plumbing issues arise (old valves that needed replacing) which they were able to replace without adding time to the schedule. Marc, Raquel, and team were great and very responsive. Raquel’s design suggestions were really helpful to me, as I wasn’t 100% sure what would look good in a small bathroom. I would definitely recommend their work!"

"On this last visit Scott Barnhill worked on our irrigation system and drainage. This had been his 6th visit or so to our property and we are very pleased with him. Each visit lasts about 5 hours for which we are charged $250.00 and he performs a great variety of services. We have had him repair plumbing leaks, install grab bars in tiled showers, install sink popups, correct improper wiring in outlets, install GFI outlets, trace wiring circuits and hang large and heavy pictures/paintings in addition to replacing the garage wall unit for the irrigation system, digging up and replacing irrigation heads and crawling under my house to investigate drainage issues. His ability to perform so many different tasks in a professional and courteous manner at reasonable rates makes him a very desirable service provider.

"Our story begins almost a year ago with the Certificate of Occupancy on our new home. We were moving in from across the country ... from California to South Carolina. Upon seeing the finished product for the first time, the framing and the interior of the house was absolutely wonderful, reflecting all the expert craftsmanship expected on a custom build. The exterior painting, walkways, driveway, porch and patio looked like they were done by the worst of the tract home trade. The incessant spills and splatters were due to the lightning speed of work which is the hallmark of lack or prep and general carelessness of application. The general contractor tried to help as he could, explaining that subcontractor "must have an A and B team". The term "B team" was quite an understatement and a shock. Some things were fixed; others were beyond repair, would require starting over which we were not willing to pay for. Enter the Southern Shores Handyman (JR Grimm). He completed dozen or so small tasks remaining from the builder's punch list, some of which had to wait until now for the pressure-treated lumber to age (i.e. that kind of wood does not take dark colors until 6 to 8 months after installation). JR had the patience to stay with the effort and overcome any unforeseen obstacles to get the results that he sought. He cleaned up the subcontractor's messes and then some ... left the porch and inside of the garage in better shape than we thought possible. Exit JR, leaving behind another very satisfied customer."

"During December Mel did our HVAC maintenance, diagnosed the need for and installed a new condensate pump for our downstairs system and added a UVC germicidal system for our new upstairs HVAC system. We always request Mel for his expertise, knowledge and willingness to explain, and he always does an excellent job. We also had a new upstairs HVAC that was installed by Robbie and John and subsequent duct cleaning and disinfecting by Thomas. They all did an excellent job and were good and patient at explaining, answering questions and cleaning up the work area."
