"Tim met me at the home before we moved in and inspected the existing systems. This was during an intense heat wave and the busiest time of the year, so it took a couple of days to get a quote since he wanted to do the math to properly size the systems. I appreciated the extra time taken so as to not sell us something we didn't need or that would be inadequate. Tim provided 3 price/performance/features options for both the HVAC and water heater and explained everything very well. I was unfamiliar with the water heater brand recommended but Tim answered all my questions via email, even reaching out to the company rep to get more information to put my mind at ease. He worked us into their schedule so that the work could be completed before move-in. The team showed up on time and completed the job a bit sooner than expected. Workmanship was impressive. Tim even pointed out a couple of other issues with the home, unrelated to the HVAC, that he'd noticed during the installation and deserved attention. He even replaced a saddle valve connected to the fridge at no charge, just because "he couldn't leave it there in good conscience" as they are known to leak. This was above and beyond the call of duty and much appreciated. When the work was complete Tim walked us through the operation of the thermostat and helped me set up the remote control app on my cel phone. We've had the system for over a month and are quite happy with it and the work Portman Mechanical performed. Very professional, technically savvy, and great workmanship."
