"DR Bob treated my tree for Dutch elm disease, as well as my shrubs for spider mites, and black spot. Definitely cheaper than replacing all my shrubs, which I was preparing to do. Prompt and professional. Fingers crossed, this works!"

"Cody Irrigation has done an outstanding job for us. We have used them for minor repairs for years, but this year, due to a lightning strike, our entire system had to be rewired. Brent Cody also suggested adding a zone, which we did. Brent and his crew did a great job. Although it took a while to get on their books (a positive sign that they are busy!) Cody Irrigation showed up when they said they would, completed the work in the time they said they would, and adhered to the quote they gave us. This review was delayed only because I wanted to see how the lawn did in the heat - it looks better than ever. Brent and Robin Cody are professional and excellent to work with. We could not be happier."

"I bought a "DEAL" so I know I got a great price on the work. Jock Wilson and his team were in and out in a flash. My trees look far better than I expected and the team left the property so clean you would have never guessed we'd had the trees done. They also stayed for a bit to answer some questions that my husband had regarding our property. We already have plans to use them again."

"Excellent. Garcia's Lawn Service was prompt in showing up and gave an estimate on the spot. Price was very reasonable for entire removal of existing shrubs. On the day of the job, they showed up with 4 - 5 workers and knocked it out in several hours. Excellent experience overall. Definitely give them a call!"

"Amazing work! They cut down and hauled off the entire tree brush within a day and came back for an hour the second day for cleanup. Minus the tree, you can hardly tell the we’re there! EZ Tree Service workers even fixed the lawn where logs had fallen. Absolutely amazing work! 10/10 recommend for jobs big and small! We worked out a deal where they hauled off the brush but left me the logs to split and stump to remove. I’m 100% gonna be using them in a couple weeks as the rent the equipment to remove stumps and split the logs. Before and after picture are posted!"

FAQs for trees & shrubs treat, protect and maintain projects in North Richland Hills, TX

The optimal transplanting season depends on your tree species, but most trees respond best when moved during dormancy. For deciduous trees, late fall after leaf drop or early spring before bud break provides the lowest stress periods. Evergreens transplant better in early fall or late summer when soil temperatures remain warm enough for some root growth. Avoiding transplanting during active growth periods helps trees direct energy toward establishing new roots rather than supporting foliage.

While technically, trees of any size can be transplanted with the right equipment and expertise, practical considerations limit what's reasonable for most homeowners. Trees with trunk diameters under 15 inches are most commonly transplanted in residential settings. Success rates decline as trees increase in size and age, with specimens over 24 inches in diameter presenting significant challenges and costs. For large trees, carefully weigh the substantial investment against the potential benefits and survival probability.

Most transplanted trees require one to two years to fully establish in their new location, with larger specimens often needing additional time. During this establishment period, the tree regenerates roots that were inevitably lost during the move. Signs of successful establishment include normal seasonal growth patterns, healthy leaf development, and reduced dependence on supplemental watering. The quality of aftercare during this critical period significantly influences long-term survival rates.

Self-transplanting is feasible for small trees with trunk diameters under two to three inches if you have proper tools and follow correct techniques. However, medium to large trees require professional expertise and specialized equipment to ensure tree survival and property protection. While professional services cost more initially, they achieve much higher success rates and prevent potential damage to your property or the tree itself. The investment in professional services often proves worthwhile when considering the value of mature trees.
