"Service Tech Norm arrived as promised around 2:00 pm.  He came in and looked over the system and within 15 minutes, isolated the primary problem that caused the boiler to fail.  He had the part on the truck, installed it, and within a very short timeframe, the furnace was back up and running!  As I type this, it is 18 degrees outside, so this type of quick fix is MUCH APPRECIATED. <br /> While there, Norm identified 2 additional parts on the boiler that are on the verge of failure and gave me the price quote to fix these and an approximate timeline to avoid another outage. <br /> He also told me about their 3 year maintenance plan for covered cleanings.  The plan also provides discounts on parts, so I did the math in my head and determined that this was an outstanding deal and signed up for it. <br /> My home is now heated again as the snow flies outside! <br /> I highly recommend this company. <br />"

"It went very well in fact.  Jason and his crew were very respectful in my home not only with their conversation with me but how they spoke to each other as well.  Even the music that they listened to while working was not rude or crude.  They came when they said they would.  They always cleaned up after each day's job.  And, they didn't damage my home anywhere else in the process.  Jason had no problem redesigning the plumbing, removing a huge tiled built-in bathtub and steps, and installing a shower with a European glass door and glass on top of 1/2 walls which permits more light into the shower.  Another 1/2 wall was built for privacy and a taller style toilet was installed.  12 x 24-inch ceramic tiles were used on the floor and on the walls of the shower.  Travertine was used for the baseboards and for the sills on the 1/2 walls of the shower.  My old stained sink cabinet was reused and now sports a golden Venetian granite countertop and white sink.  A single-handle Delta faucet was installed that operates with just a touch on the handle or base.  Lovely!  Even the kahki-colored paint blends very well with the tiles and countertop chosen.  I am very pleased with Jason Catlin's work and would hire him again in a heartbeat.  Matter of fact, a problem arose where the soap dish in a shower bath upstairs was not maintained and the water from the shower leaked into the half bath below.  Now there is mold behind the soap dish behind the wall.  I will be very happy when Jason can return and remediate the mold in the bathroom and rebuild what needs to be done."

"<p>First off, I cannot say enough good things about the SRI Construction owner, John DiMercurio.  John is without a doubt one of the most honest and hardworking contractors I've ever worked with.  Very outgoing, creative and totally customer oriented.  We originally were going to go with SRI for our renovations earlier this year and ended up cancelling due to my mother-in-law's health situation.  When her health stabilized we went back to John and signed the contract to proceed.  Unfortunately in the interim, he had signed a couple other contracts ahead of us and it affected our schedule.  However, knowing our family situation, John did a little juggling and got us scheduled much earlier than expected.  This was much appreciated and way over our expectations.  </p> <p>John is also number one in communications.  I have never worked with a more responsive contractor than John.  It didn't matter if I texted or emailed him with a question, he replied almost immediately.  Just amazing!  His responsiveness definitely lowered our stress level immensely.</p> <p>As far as price for the work done, John was very competitive with other companies.  The quality of the work was all top notch. John was on site for the entirely of the project along with his team.  They were always was prompt, professional and courteous.  The finished bathroom is beautiful and will definitely enhance the resale value of our house.  The attention to detail on the tile work, granite, vanity and lighting was second to none. They also did a great job at walling off the in-law's bedroom area into a beautiful living space.   My wife and I are so pleased as are the in-laws!</p> <p>Again, if you want an honest, hard-working, enthusiastic and energetic contractor who does top quality work, John is your man.  I would not hesitate to go with his company again on any project and I HIGHLY recommend everyone reading this review to do the same!  You won't be disappointed.</p> <p>Thanks again for everything John!!  Rob & Terri</p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p> </p>"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in North Street, MI

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
