"<p>Warren is great to work with.  He is very straightforward, you always know what you will get.  He is knowledgeable about every aspect of the project and offers great insights and suggestions.  He is very flexible and accommodating and fun to talk to.  His work is amazing, beautiful, very meticulous....one can see that he takes great pride in it.  I have no ability to visualize what the eventual outcome will be, so knowing that makes change a little disconcerting for me.  But he meticulously coordinated a deconstruction of the old and build of the new step by step, each phase increasing my anticipation to see the final product.  It was fun to watch and he was very patient with, and creative resolving, the various "surprises" that one finds in an old house.  He also is great about thinking ahead, suggesting and installing bracing in locations where shelves, grab bars or other future changes might be anticipated.  </p> <p>I would work with Warren again in a minute and hope he will come back for my kitchen remodel.  In case you are concerned, the worksite was cleaned up every night and great care was taken to keep household items and furnishings our of harms way.  He also suffered the cat admirably, even though he is a dog person.  My new bathroom is great, very bright and modern, and I love it!</p>"

"I got 4 quotes for our master bath remodel. Kitchen solvers estimate was right in the middle. I was always able to get in touch with Jim if I had any questions, and his staff was always courteous. <br /> They removed an old tub, an old vanity, and put in a new shower and tile. Installed new custom cabinets, tile flooring, toilet, and other accessories (mirrors, lights, handle pulls) <br /> Jim said it would take 2 weeks, and he was spot on. <br /> A year later when a floor tile came loose, I called Jim and he was over the next day to fix it. Would recommend <br />"

"I have wanted to do this for a long time. <br /> We had a quote for the work, and decided not to do it right away. <br /> Approximately 1 year later the decision was made to go ahead with this. <br /> Jeff remembered us and the project.  He came to the house to check measurements and he told us what the cost would be. <br /> We gave him a deposit that day. <br /> Work was done when scheduled and they painted the mantle at my request for the fireplace. <br /> Although i think that I might want some additional work done, it is because of my preference. <br /> jeff is aware that I might want some additional things added and has been very attentive. <br />"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in North Waterboro, ME

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
