That alone told me a lot about his commitment. He assessed the situation first, then came back to complete the repair and walked me through everything step by step so I actually understood what was happening and why. With a house this old, that kind of communication really matters. Since we had just moved in, he also helped service a few other things around the house so we could get ahead of potential issues. "These guys were awesome. I called them in the morning and they came in later that day. Luckily for me the backup had cleared itself so despite leaving a mess in the basement, it wasn't still backing up. When they showed up they told me it would be $175 to check the drain lines and clear anything they found. This seemed fair since it was already going to be $85 for them to show up and do nothing. They got to work and about 30 minutes later told me that they had found tree roots and had cleared them. They let me know that this is a pretty common problem, and that the roots were likely to grow back so they should probably be cleared each year to prevent the problem from recurring. This seemed fair to me. They ended up charging me an extra $25 to replace the drain cap that would come off, but that was no issue. I will happily hire them again, and will be calling them back next year to check for roots again. It has been a month since they completed their service and there have been no repeat issues since then."

The dispatch office did not forward my unit number so I had to give that - again, not a big deal. The plumber was pleasant and did a great job clearing the drain and was even able to reattach a drain trap that I thought would need to be replaced in a way that doesn't leak. My only issue is that they are very expensive - even with the 15% Angie's list discount. <br />"

I called and Paul, the owner, and his co-worker arrived shortly thereafter. They used some high-tech equipment and a camera to locate pipe and clog. They were thorough, found the clog & removed the roots. I was very relieved the sewer pipe did not need to get dug up and happy with the efficient work done - also that it cost a LOT LESS than what was quoted by Roto Rooter. I would highly recommend them."
