"Overall experience was positive. The diagnosis was good and only required a $15 part that was able to install myself. My frig is working great. While my total cost for the repair was $80 which included the $35 diagnostic fee, the lowest other price quote was over $400. I am very pleased with this new type of appliance repair. I will be recommending this my family and friends."

"Although the receptionist for Mr. Appliance of Southeast Ma was somewhat curt when I called, "George" the service professional was very courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient, He used a tool to quickly unlock the oven door. He explained that due to the age of the appliance, a replacement part was not readily available, but he would notify me if he found one. I cannot use the oven cleaning feature, but can still use all the other features of my oven. The cost was reasonable."

"Very well.  Their goodwill has earned my determination to go to their website next time I need replacement appliance parts. In fact I already have another part for our dryer on order from them."

"My air conditioner wasn't working. I called S and S to request a quote. They came on the same day! In order to give me a quote, the technician had to take the unit apart. He discovered that the fan was and quot;frozen.and quot; He got it moving again and waited to be sure that the unit was working properly (it was and is!). He reassembled the unit and said there would be no charge. <br /> Yes, I would definitely recommend them, and yes, I will call them if I need any service they cover. <br />"

"I called one other company regarding a gas furnace that was not working. The first company I called was not able to come by until between 6 and 8 p.m. Service experts gave me a window of 10 and 12 that day. Since I was without heat and it was getting cold, I canceled the other company and went with service experts. They called back shortly and said that the service tech was running behind and would be by between 12 and 2, which was fine. When the tech arrived, he met the tenants father at the door and according to the tenants father, he was a bit short with him and demanded that the landlord be called and was very concerned as to who was going to pay for the service. I imagine these companies have gotten in trouble in the past with tenants calling for service and telling the company to bill the landlord and the landlord not agreeing to the services. I arrive a few minutes after the technician arrived, he called me on my cell phone and i told him I was right around the corner. He was pleasant with me and I could not complain about his attitude or his professionalism. He took the furnace apart and within a few minutes got it running again. He showed me where the heat exchanger was damaged and explained to me the dangers of this. He said he would contact a comfort specialist and have him come over and price out repair or replacement of the furnace. He called the comfort specialist, Doug, and told me he could be there in a hour. I explained I was tight on time and he called doug back and negotiated a 30 min arrival time, which was more like only 20. I explained to the service tech that I just wanted a price and then I would follow up with my decision. The tech told me that he could not give me a price because Doug had to look over the system and the house to make sure it was adequate. As the tech was packing up his tools, as DOug was heading over, he then told me that it would be 2400 dollars to replace the heat exchanger and 4500 to replace the furnace. I was a little annoyed by that because I didn't want to sit through a sales call. When Doug came, he wanted to sit down right away and go over the pricing. I asked if he needed to look at the furnace first, as the tech had implied that he would, and he then went downstairs, just to humor me I think. We sat down at the table and he told me the same prices as the tech did. I pretty much just left it as though I will think about it and get back to him. At one point he asked me what I was planning on spending, which leads me to believe I could have negotiated the price a bit. I asked about any promotions or Angies list coupons and he told me there was a costco promotion that provided 10 percent back to use at costco. After meeting with him I called a few companies and they all seemed to give me ballpark, sight unseen prices that were a bit more so I decided that Service experts price was competitive. I called Doug and told him I wanted to go ahead with the furnace. He came to my work to have me sign the agreement. The furnace was installed a few days later. They showed up on time and did what was expected. All in all I was very happy with the service. <br />"

"Frigidaire gave me the names of a few authorized repair centers, and Suzor was the only one that wanted to touch the job. Suzor successfully dealt with Frigidaire for me when there was some question about whether the repair was covered by warranty. It took three trips to do the job--one to diagnose the problem, one to install the new part, and one to replace the new part when it didn't work. All through the process they were prompt, responsive, and professional, and ultimately the dishwasher is fixed at no cost to me. I would definitely use them for a paid repair."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Northfield, MA

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
