"Work started on a Saturday with large experienced teardown crew. They completed teardown and started wood replacement where necessary. At end of the day they covered the entire roof with sheeting in case of rain. A small experienced crew returned early on Monday to complete the wood work. When city inspection was done on wood repair, they started the shingle work and finished in a few days. At the end of every day they went on a nail patrol with magnetic tools looking for nails around the perimeter of the house. They did a very professional job with roof, cleanup, etc. I used Hoyt before on another house and will use them again."

He came out to inspect my flat roof and took the time to thoroughly explain its condition. He mentioned that my roof was very flat and would need to be hot mopped—a service he doesn’t offer. What stood out most was his honesty. He explained that a torch-down roof, which other companies were pushing, wouldn’t last and would likely start leaking in just a few years. He even advised me to place my AC unit on a metal platform when the new roof is installed, as the current wooden one I have is not up to code—something no other inspector had mentioned. Not only was Adam honest, but his expertise was clear. While I’m disappointed that he doesn’t offer hot mopping services, I would have hired him in a heartbeat if he did. "I have a flat roof. Four years ago, in 2014, Jordan put on a new roof. I also have a mansered portion of the roof which is basically decorative and covered with shingles. They did not replace this part as it looked to still be in good condition. Last week when we had a big rain, the roof leaked into the master bedroom. I was mortified. They came out promptly and determined that part of the shingled portion of the roof which I could not see was wearing out and allowing water in. Tim took pictures so I could understand what he was telling me. He managed to glue it together such that when it happen to rain the next day, there was no more leaking. He measured the area so that the office could estimate the cost of replacing that area. He said the rest of the shingled roof could easily last 5-10 years more. Since this was not part of the roof his company had replaced and therefore guaranteed, technically he wasn’t obligated to do anything for free. But he made this repair, no charge. This is one of those rare reliable reputable companies that rarely exist anymore. It is family based with the next generation taking on more and more so it is likely to be around for many years. I will always call this company first. One other note: Initially, I was reluctant to hire them to replace my roof because they are based some distance from me and I thought if there were a problem it might be hard to get them out. In 2017, I had a bad leak in the portion of the roof over the garage. They were on it and it turned out it was due to a clogged downspout which is the homeowners responsibility. They cleared the drain nonetheless, no charge."

"Sept. 2024. We own a single story 2150 square feet home in Yorbe Linda. The spanisch tile roof is now 35 years old and it was leaking in one spot. ,We decided to replace all the underlying tar paper for the whole roof. We got four estimates, One was very close to California Roof experts, and two's costs 20% more. California Roof experts was the only company that offered a 20-year warranty on their work. They use a new superstrong woven silicone roofing paper to give this guarantee. Plus they were the only one that would reset the tiles on commercial wood strips to hold the tile in place. The wood strips have 3/8" thick rubber pads that will the water, if any, to allow to run under the strips. They did reuse the sheet metal that is places at the low point of two sided (gulley). I was skeptical of the sheet metals condition and I had Arthuro bring the sheet metal down for inspection and they showed no rust spots. I did however have Arthuro hammer flat some protruding sheet metal spots where the previous nails were so as not to cut the thin woven silicone paper. Also, we insisted on using city inspection, for which we paid, $330, Once the roofers started, they had always a full crew on the job, and we never had to call them up or prod them. Each evening, they cleaned up around the house before the left. There was no request for additional tiles, cement or any other item. Once the job was completed, it passed city inspection the first time. We are very satisfied with the company, their management, and their workers. Gunter H. Sanders"
