He was a about a half hour late for the appointment but did call. I would suggest to be honest with the pricing up front. They couldn't give me a up front cost.  <br /> <br /> I did pay more then I had expected to and think they were a little higher then other companies. I would use them again if the pricing was right, I don't want to spend $5,000 on replacing my chimney."

"We purchased a house built in 1957 around 2.5 years ago and needless to say have had some major upgrade projects. Last on our list for the time being was upgrading electrical (panel needed to be updated, new circuits added, and lots of new switches and outlets). We've dealt with several contractors from insulation to plumbing, and have had pretty major issues with all of them. Working with Raincap has been great and I am happy to say say we had zero issues - from responsiveness, being upfront about all anticipated costs and providing different scenarios in case they ran into issues (which they inevitably did given our wonky wiring), and showing up when they said they would, to making certain we were satisfied with the work completed before sending the final bill. While we had an idea of what we wanted done, they were able to provide their professional opinion on the feasibility of what we thought we wanted and were also able to to provide alternative options (which ended up being much better than what we originally wanted). We would most certainly recommend their services to anyone else and will be referring them out as often as we can!"

He gave us invaluable information and recommendations on needed maintenance of at the base of the chimney, gutters and around the exhaust pipes. "Went smoothly. Completely both the skylite and the kitchen fan roof exhaust in 4 hrs. I did not discover any leak after it done. Outside roof appearance is good. Workers are professional and know what is required to complete the job. The kitchen fan roof exhaust is a tricky one and cannot be done with conventional flashing. So the installer use a torch down roof method instead. Good thinking. Pic show both the skylite and the kitchen fan roof exhaust."

"We were delighted to find that Eric came over right away and said he could start work soon, as others had indicated a wait of over a month and up to two months. He said he was going to do our small job in a break he had between big ones. However, it was difficult to get him to put his words into writing (estimate/description of work), and even when he did, it needed amendment. Even worse, when we did need additional work, he never put it in writing even when I asked, and when he asked for payment, it was a thousand dollars more than we expected. To his credit he offered to remove the extra charge, but we decided to pay it. It all should all have been in writing so that we were all on the same page before starting the work! I also had to remind him when he said he had emailed stuff like the initial contract and our final receipt, but had not sent them. Also Eric told us that we absolutely HAD to do things a certain way, and he even wanted to redo the repair we had done previously to fix that. Then, ironically, there were parts his crew did in which they failed to do what he had said was essential, and he didn't even notice when he inspected the work. Also, he complained bitterly about having to travel a long way for the materials, but didn't measure before going to get them, so they installed metal edging of the wrong size as well as having to totally redo an area of siding. The work, ultimately, was acceptable, though. Lastly, I was embarrassed by his yelling at his workers in front of me. They seemed to be trying to do things as he requested, but he was impatient and sharp with them consistently. My mother always said you get more flies with honey than vinegar (!), and getting and keeping good employees is always an issue in any business. I believe that he wants to do a good job and is capable of it, but needs to approach this with more professionalism."
