"The new finish is BEAUTIFUL. The floors look better than when they were new! The old finish was a traditional, semi-gloss, golden oil-based finish. The new one is matte, more transparent/colorless water-based finish. Had a couple spots on the final coat, they came back no questions asked and corrected. Very professional and always on time. "I got estimates from 4 different flooring companies on Angie's List, and even during the estimate process, Zack stood out for being more professional and for the love and expertise he has of his craft. Zack and Sam were a pleasure to work with, as well as Fernando and his son who did the install. It was important to me that whatever company I chose had long-standing employees, and not laborers picked up for a quick hire. Zack was the only one who had been in business 20 years, and I could tell from the way they all worked together and spoke about each other that they were like family. Their professionalism, and communication made the process smooth as we were dealing with multiple contractors in the house on different projects. For a two-week job, they finished 6 days early. (!!) My wife was elated, because we could move into the house more than a week early, because of where the weekend fell. Two entire floors of wood including stairs, ripping up carpets, and adding and painting trim. The job was fantastic, and I could not recommend these guys enough."

"Our sales associate Tim Brown was experienced, knowledgeable, responsive and pleasant to work with. He was also the one who came to our house to take measurements and prepare the quote. After experiencing a confusing quote process at HomeDepot with multiple parties involved it was important for us to have a single person for contact. The crew that came out to
install the flooring apparently was subcontracted and not fully informed about the scope of the work. It took a phone call with Tim to get them to do what was originally agreed. They did a fine job with the carpet on the stairs. The vinyl flooring itself was also done well. But the new quarter rounds, which they put where the vinyl meets the baseboards, where installed without removing silicone sealant left behind from the original quarter rounds.  The appearance was by far not ?like new? as Tim had promised during his visit. After contacting Tim about this issue he sent out their own installation crew for inspection. They agreed to our complaint and came back the same day to remove the old silicone in the areas of concern and apply a fresh silicone thread. This took them less than an hour. The end result is excellent and grade A. I gave the B rating for professionalism because a company, which has been in the business for so long, should get the installation right the first time. We would use Empire Carpet&Blinds again.
