"I pay a monthly fee to CHW for insurance against equipment failure. Over a month ago CHW sent a repair technician to fix both of my garage doors, the technician made an adjustment on one door and chanced the opener on the other. A week or so ago the second door failed to open. Yes, my door opener is old, but the Warrantee says, if it can’t be fixed it will be replaced. CHW paid the tech $100 and said the rest $200 is on me. Please tell me why I should stay with CHW if I have to pay 2/3rds of the cost to replace the door opener? On a separate issue: Granted I accepted CHW’s offer of a Lowe’s card to replace my dishwasher, because I was unaware of how much dishwashers sell for, it cost me an additional 300. Again, please give me a reason for staying with CHW"

What my handyman service does is specializes in those small odds and ends jobs that are too small for a regular contractor to deal with. Really there is no job too small that I can’t take care of. For jobs like hanging pictures, mounting a flat screen TV, repairing that bedroom or kitchen cabinet door that won’t close, stopping that runny faucet, fixing a hole in a wall or repairing that sagging gate I am the one to call. I generally charge one flat fee for showing up which includes your first hour of repair and then I charge an hourly fee after that. Make a list and get several small things done at one time.
