"I contacted Performance Appliance Repair as a result of an Angie's List recommendation. My wall oven had 2 bulbs that needed replacing. On the surface that would seem to be simple job that a home owner could handle. However protecting the bulbs were covers that were fused in place They were virtually impossible for me to remove by hand. I hand tools to do so. Dave, the owner of PAR was quick to respond to my phone call. We agreed on service call the following week. He arrived on time and knew exactly what to do. Removing the oven door he was able to gain sufficient leverage to free both bulb covers. I was particularly grateful because another service company could only remove one of the covers, not both. Now I can clearly see what I am baking. Hooray!"

"I had two previous repair men and they didn’t go through the entire system like Stan did. He found that there was 3 sensors could have been an issue and he found the one was frozen. After deicing it he found that it was bad. He replaced it and spent as much time as was needed to repair the problem. The other two tried one thing and they both failed although the one did clean the coils as a measure. Stan was very professional and even called to discuss the issue with another technician. "I called and left a message around 9:30am and Matt called me back already by 10:30am. He told me he could be at our house around noon that same day and he was right on time. The reason for the call to him was because our clothes dryer had stopped heating. He diagnosed the issue of a broken heating element quickly and had the part to repair it right then. He also, vacummed out all of the lint while he had the machine apart and made sure it was working well otherwise. <br /> While he was working on the dryer, I asked him if he also works on refrigerator / freezers and told him that we have never been able to use the water features (chilled water and ice-maker) because anytime we turned the water on it floods all over. Once the repair of the dryer was finished and he was running it to make sure it was then heating properly, he said he had a little time before his next appointment and that he could look at the refrigerator / freezer now. <br /> He had some bath-tub liner which he placed underneath the refrigerator / freezer to protect the hardwood floor when he pulled the refrigerator / freezer out from the wall. We turned the water line out but found that it did not leak this time as in the past. While he had the refrigerator / freezer pulled out, he helped me clean behind it. After 30min of no leaks, he decided that everything was okay and no repairs were needed. He replaced the water filter so that we can now use the chilled water and ice-maker, which is the first time in the whole 5 years we've lived in the house. He then finished putting the dryer back together. <br /> Matt was really so nice and is very easy to have at the house. He was very careful with everything. He was very quick to call back and come out to the house. He was at the house for probably about 1 1/2 hours and was able to repair the dryer in that time and check out the water line in our refrigerator / freezer to make sure it was okay. I really didn't have any idea of what the repairs might cost and was pleasantly suprised that it was just $274, which is a great value for the quality of work and professionalism. I couldn't be happier and would definitely recommend Matt and Allied Appliance Maintenance to others. It says a lot that Matt's grandfather started the business, which was later taken over by his dad and now him. The family has been doing this a long time and you can tell he cares.
