Mike arrived shortly and went to work. He quickly diagnosed the problems: the dryer needed a switch on the door. The washing machine was operating properly. The problem was the impaired draining of the basement sink which caused some of the  expelled water to  backflow iinto the washing machine. "Veterans Appliance Service made trip to determine what part needed replacing, found after-market part (manufacturer no longer carried the part), installed part which was complicated because after-market thermostat did not have all connecting screws...requiring on-site fabrication of connector parts, which was successfully done, the replacement part was installed, it now works fine, saved us buying an new oven. Very friendly, good communicator, honest, highly recommend."
