"Nate- Atl & Hubter- Atl. were very professional and efficient with the tear out and installation of our new bathtub. They communicated each of the steps with us and a full explanation before leaving. They arrived on time and finished earlier than I was expecting. Great job guys!"

"Angi recommended Five Star. Alvin came out and gave me a quote without taking up too much of my time. After signing the contract I scheduled my install for July 20th. On the install day Erik and his co-worker showed up on time ready to work. I had expected the work to take 2 1/2 days. Erik finished it in 2. Wednesday night I got to use my new bath/shower. I am completely happy with how it all turned out."

"We removed some paneling that covered the bottom half or the walls in our family room. Some of it had been glued on and damaged the drywall during removal. Also, it had not been textured. Ron came in and replaced and repaired the damaged drywall, then textured it to match the upper half. He did it quickly and to our complete satisfaction and was very neat and tidy."

"Edit: Stars have been lowered because the tile was not sealed properly, so the edges started flaking off within a year. The threshold to the hallway was not planned properly by the contractor, and a metal piece was installed to fill a gap, which looks extremely cheap and we paid a lot for the remodel. We had agreed upon a built in wood cabinet/closet to replace the built in one that was already there, but due to the contractor wanting to get the job done, we were give a melamine one made by Closets to go which looks so out of place in a 1926 home, and so cheap. We realized later that the bid cost was not adjusted accordingly. The mahogany moulding around the door was removed and replaced with pressed wood moulding, which looks terrible, and the same moulding was used around part of the bottom of a wall, and chips/crumbles very easily. The contractor also failed to bring enough caulk to fully seal the tub/shower at the end of the job, and we had to seal the remainder. Further, a lot of extra tile was ordered, which we paid for, and were told belonged to the contractor when the job was done, and that and we could not keep it. Overall, we are really disappointed with some of the work that was done due to quality issues, and also it was also shady that so much extra tile was purchased and paid for by us, yet the contractor claimed it belonged to him at the close of the job, and took the tile with him We had 5 Star Home Renovations do a complete remodel of our 1926 year old house bathroom. This included marble tile to the ceiling in the bathtub surround, marble tile on the lower half of all of the walls, medium hex floor tile, installing an exhaust fan, replacing the light fixture, toilet, vanity, medicine cabinet, wiring and outlet near the toilet for a warm water bidet, molding around the door, and a replacement of the built in closet. Joe was super responsive anytime we called or emailed with questions during the renovation. He and his crew were professional, punctual, kept work areas clean, and were respectful of the house during the renovation."

"Roy did a great job at installing our range hood and ice maker for my kitchen remodel. Initially I had retained Roy to do only the range hood. When he showed up at the house to spec out the job, I urgently needed a plumber to install the ice maker line for my new refrigerator. I asked Roy if he could add this onto the existing job, and he quickly indicated that he could add this onto the project. This saved my day, since I was about to start a new job and getting very busy with the remodel. Roy showed up on time, completed the job as planned. The jobs were unique in that the refrigerator is a Subzero - very exacting standards for where the water line is located. Roy installed the line in exactly the correct location with great care and efficiency. The hood install was also done with with exacting detail and right on specifications. The hood and ice maker are working like a dream!

FAQs for bathtub installation and replacement projects in Oregon City, OR

Most tubs last an average of 20 years, or closer to 10 to 15 if they’re acrylic or fiberglass. If you’re seeing persistent leaks, cracks, stubborn stains, or mold that won’t scrub away, it’s time to start shopping for a replacement. Out-of-date features and visible water damage are other red flags. Swapping the tub now protects your bathroom from bigger (and pricier) repairs down the road.

You should install your tub in a location that complements your bathroom's layout, plumbing connections, and personal preferences. Consider placing it near existing plumbing to minimize installation costs. Many homeowners position their tubs to take advantage of natural light or scenic outdoor views, enhancing relaxation.

Ensure there's sufficient space around the tub for easy access and safety, especially if accessibility is a concern. Ultimately, the ideal spot is where the tub fits seamlessly with your bathroom design and provides the most comfort and convenience for your needs.

Replacing a bathtub takes just one or two days if you hire a pro to handle the job. They'll remove the old tub and install the new one efficiently. If you're considering doing it yourself, be prepared for it to take much longer, possibly up to a month. That's because you'll need to remove the old tub and drywall, install the new tub, repair the walls, and maybe tackle new tiling. Weigh the time commitment against potential cost savings to decide what's best for you.

Converting your tub to a shower transforms your bathroom with a modern and accessible design. The average cost to convert a tub to a shower ranges from $2,000 to $10,500, based on the required plumbing, tiling, and structural modifications. This upgrade maximizes space while boosting functionality and aesthetics in your bathroom.
