"Excellent!! Above and beyond what we expected! We were having a very large and important party on June 1, 2013 and Molly & her team at Clines were able to fabricate, construct and install everything by Friday, 5/31/2013. This was amazing given that I only delivered the fabric for the outdoor panels the Tuesday before the party! We were all ecstatic."

"Everything looked great! The ceiling repair was amazing! I can barely tell where he repaired the ceiling and the painted cabinets saved me money and time because I didn’t have to replace them. I would definitely have CM Painting do work for me again."

"Wallace construction came to my door after seeing shingles missing on my roof. Unlike the fly by night contractors that typically do this approach, Denise was very friendly, had a logo shirt and truck and was very professional. They helped us with our insurance adjuster to pay for a good portion of the new roof when I didn't even realize it was a possibility. They offered great communication which to me is key. Everything was accomplished in a timely and professional manner. Our new roof looks great and definitely improved our curb appeal. Will use for future projects, and I even have a few in mind."

"Dave York and his team have been truly outstanding over the past year in helping us take a lovely, though aging, home that we purchased and making it sound again. Some issues were more serious than others, but at every turn Dave treated each issue with high priority. Further, while he "knows a lot about a lot" already, when an issue arises that he has not encountered, he does the research and won't stop it until he is satisfied himself in terms of confidence to do the job right. He is fair, honest, thorough, and friendly. We can only offer the highest praise for York Remodeling."

"I can't say enough positives of Hays and Sons. They were highly recommended by friends and my insurance adjuster. The first contact I had with the company was the operator out of their Muncie office at 3701 W. 8th Street 47302, (765)287-0911 and spoke with Joseph Horsley. He immediately scheduled me for a walk-through estimate. In a very short period of time after he had contacted my insurance company, I was put in touch with Tom Terrell, project manager. Let me say, once you contract a job, you expect the workmen to be experienced and qualified. They were! However, the BEST part of this whole experience was working with Tom. I can't say enough positives about this man. The words come easy: courteous, respectful, prompt, knowledgeable, and most importantly, a GREAT communicator. He NEVER failed to keep me posted on exactly where things were. He was frequently on the property checking the work and asking me if I had any questions about anything. He represents his company well out in the field. If he's not satisfied with the work - they do it over! <br />"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Otterbein, IN

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
