"On time! Quick to communicate and update! Clean! Fair! Honest! And a solid guy. The first time I met Chris, I knew he was special, talented and unique. I had multiple trees fall on my home this year due to severe weather during the spring and summer. At every step of the process, Chris and his team were there to help me navigate multiple insurance claims, a long list of repairs and a handful of extras. He handled by never-ending list of questions with grace, detail and a level of promptness you donâ t always get from people who you hire. Home construction is an eventful journey, complete with many twists and turns, and I couldnâ t think of a better contractor to get you across the finish line on time and on budget than Chris."

"James and his team did a fantastic job finishing our walkout basement. The entire process had great communication about what was being worked on. James is also the best carpenter and his knowledge of construction and remodeling is unmatched. We had the wrong sized electric fireplace and James added amazing custom trim to make it work and it turned out looking even better than we originally hoped. On top of it all James takes pride in his work and cares about his customers. Heâ  s the kind of guy you could go golfing with, which I did after they finished up the amazing basement job. Highly recommend!"

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
