"We had a couple of brand new bar height stools that needed to be cut to fit our kitchen island. Bar height was too tall and counter height was too low. Although skeptical not thinking we could find anyone willing to cut them, we contacted Jacob to see if he could do the job. Within minutes we were in contact and a few hours later he came out ready to do the job. He took great care in cutting and sanding each leg and the results were amazing! We are extremely happy with the way they turned out. In fact we are so happy that we plan on buying a couple more to have cut to size!! Thank you Jacob for your truly amazing service! Will definitely be calling you again in the near future!!!"

"Enlarged the opening between kitchen and living room (added support beam, removed wall), and removed some cabinets and built-in desk that were part of the wall. Repurposed the walk-in pantry to house the refrigerator that was on the wall that was removed. Overall, very professional and high quality. On time and on budget, and timely progress updates along the way. They are a fun crew to work with. Recommend them highly."

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
