"Everything went great. They were able to set up an in-home estimate. Derrick is courteous and professional, and was able to get me an estimate quickly, and was even able to accommodate the work the same day, cleaned up after the work, and walked through the features of the installed hardware with me. Very highly recommended, and would definitely call them again for any plumbing work!"

"Excellent. Aqueduct Plumbing went above and beyond. We have multiple properties, mostly commercial and one residential. Clayton addressed each with the same level of detail, professionalism, and care. In addition, we had a daunting project that most turned their back on…Clayton came through. A+ service. A+ staff."

"Mr. Everly is just amazing. His workmanship is top-notch and his prices are very fair. We had previously used his company to install a dishwasher and new faucet when we had our countertops in the kitchen replaced. It was a challenging task and he did a fantastic job. So, when our bathroom sinks and a pipe downstairs started leaking, we called on him again. I can't say enough about this one-man dynamo! He is a great plumber in every sense of the word and I'm confident we'll call on him with any future plumbing-related problems we have. I highly recommend him! <br />"

"This guy is awesome!!! He showed up on time and worked hard. He was friendly and communicated all that he was doing. He had a sense of humor too. I teased him that he couldn't be a proper plumber since I didn't see butt crack. He offered to drop his pants a bit. No thanks!!! We all laughed. <br /> We had leakage issues in basement and really strange pipe arrangements. He ripped out the strangeness and replaced it with clean, straight connections that are properly fixed to walls and ceiling studs. It turned out that previous owners had installed the wrong type of PVC pipes on the hot water lines. That's why it leaked if you looked at it crosswise. We now have the correct piping and basement is dry and pretty. And I can run hot water to laundry without buckets on floor to catch leaks. Yippee! <br /> Would I hire this guy again? Oh yes!!! When we're ready to rebuild basement bathroom next year, this is the guy I'll call. <br />"

"Fantastic!! Not only did Prime Plumbing find that the work to fully replace the sewer lines in my home that had been estimated by a competitor to cost over $14000 WAS NOT NECESSARY, they also provided a highly competitive price for the replacement of the hot water heater. They had every opportunity to provide a lower bid on the work we presumed was needed based on the previous estimate but instead demonstrated that they are highly ethical plumbers interested more in establishing a trusting relationship than someone willing to take advantage of a situation created by a competitor. They will be my plumbers for life and I couldn't recommend them any more strongly to anyone with any plumbing concern. THANK YOU SO MUCH PRIME PLUMBING!!!"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Owings Mills, MD

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
