Small jobs welcome

"I am very happy with the work done by Cannon General Contracting. They showed up when they said they would, did excellent work and kept us informed throughout the project. Everything was completed on time and with great care. It’s hard to find contractors you can truly trust and Scott and his team are definitely one of them! I highly recommend them."

"The project was done professionally from start to finish.  Took about a week including inspections and waiting for concrete footings to dry.Crews showed up on time, were personable and displayed pride in their work. They kept us informed about what was going on and asked us when there were options we might want input on.
The job site was kept clean. They even put excess concrete in shovel-sized piles so they could remove them the next day. When a conflict arose with the concrete company, they volunteered to come in for a delivery at 4:30-5:00 am (in the dark!) to keep the project on track.
Electrical conduit in the garage was installed unobtrusively. They upgraded the electrical panel without additional cost (even though that could have been an extra charge per the contract). The drywall removed during the upgrade was replace/repaired and even painted! (Looks better now than it did before.)
The lead installer was a great supervisor...getting the best out of his crew with a coaching management style ensuring a happy staff while listening to their suggestions and honing their skills. We found that very impressive, probably contributing in no small part to the outstanding job.
If forced to recommend how they could improve: Warranties and installation manual for inverter were a little slow in coming.
We would recommend Urban Design Solar without reservation to anyone considering "going solar."

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Palermo, CA

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
