Small jobs welcome

"Greg is an absolute top notch guy and contractor. His work was all extremely well done. He built my airbnb from the ground up, handled the county, And made the whole project seemless. He built it faster and for way less money than any other contractor I interviewed. He also. Stuck to his bid! He just really cares about people."

"From start to finish the process was perfect. Stephanie and Jennifer were very helpful. They helped us picked the appropriate moldings based on our interests. Stephanie kept us in the loop of the delivery and installation schedule. The installers were professional, on time, and respectful of my space. Their attention to details really showed-every cut precise and the finish looked seamless. I would highly recommend Artistic Doors their molding installation services to anyone looking for quality and stress-free experience. "

Customers say: True professional

"Leo was very helpful and quick to respond. We’re happy with how our 2 bathrooms turned out. Project was completed within the time promised. Our only complaint is that the workers did not clean up very well. But overall, we’re satisfied and we’ll use them again. "

Customers say: Quick response

"I own a two bedroom two bath condo in south Palm Springs that was in need of extensive repairs before being put on the market to be sold. Repairs included resurfacing and restaining kitchen cabinets, tile flooring repair, drywall repair and painting throughout. I was put in contact with VIP Construction Services via referral. The owner of VIP, Valentin Pop came to my home to assess the work that was needed and a few days later provided a thorough work estimate of the entire job. Valentin is a very pleasant young family man, I found him to be professional, conscientious, well spoken and easy to communicate with. He said that he had been working with the same crew for 10+ years, which was evident in the way they all worked together. While VIP was not the lowest bid we received, I was extremely happy with their work, and I believe the old adage, "you get what you pay for" definitely applies here. I would highly recommend VIP Construction Services for home repair of any scale."

Customers say: Terrific value

"Very disappointed with the way Mr. Esparza has treated us so far. We ordered windows and doors from him for a renovation project at home. The day he was supposed to arrive to give us a quote he didn't show up. Just like in another review I read, Mr. Esparza had an emergency. He showed up the following day. Took four weeks to get the quote from him. The windows and doors were of good quality and look really good. So I decided to add another window to my order. When Mr. Esparza delivered the order, he said he would get me the additional window the following week. It has been over a month now. My contractor finished the job and will now need to make a special trip to my home to install the window. Mr. Esparza did stop by to inspect a sliding screen door that did not fit well. He took it with him to fix it. He has not returned it yet and it has been weeks! He is constantly ignoring my text messages, phone calls and voice mails. He finally replied after two weeks of ignoring me. Said he would get me an update on my window and door. That was over a week ago. Since then, he has ignored my text messages again. I have never been in a situation like this and did not know what to do. A quick Google search told me to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau which I did yesterday. It also recommended I contact the following agencies: Department of Consumer Affairs State Attorney General's Office Consumer Fraud division State Licensig Board"

FAQs for doors (interior) installation and replacement projects in Palm Desert, CA

If your existing frame is in good shape, you can replace an interior door without changing the frame. This is a budget-friendly option because it saves on the cost of removing and installing a new frame. By choosing a slab door that fits your current frame, you'll save on labor and materials. Just make sure the new door matches the old one's dimensions for a smooth replacement.

Standard interior doors are 80 inches tall and range from 28 to 32 inches wide. Interior doors vary from 24 to 36 inches wide, depending on their purpose and the available space. Building codes require interior doors to be at least 80 inches tall and 24 inches wide. Knowing standard sizes helps you select a new door that fits properly in your existing opening.

It costs $600 to $2,000 or more to move an inside door. The total price depends on your location, the type of door, and materials needed to complete the project. Moving an interior door requires walling up the leftover space and opening up a new wall where you want the door to go instead. You’ll also want to plan for the expense of framing the new wall opening and adding trim.

Exterior door installation costs an average of $1,175, with a typical range of $525 to $1,800. The higher expense compared to the cost of interior doors comes from the need for exterior doors to be weather-proofed and they are often made of thicker, more durable materials. The associated exterior hardware must also be able to withstand harsh weather, so these cost more as well.

It costs between $300 to $2,500 to make a doorway wider on average. However, the wider you need the space to be, the more it will cost. Some homeowners choose to widen interior doorways to make the house more wheelchair accessible. In order to be wheelchair accessible, an interior door needs to be at least 32 to 36 inches wide. Also, some older homes just have narrow doorways due to the nature of how homes were built differently many decades ago.

It takes between two to five hours for a professional door installer to install an interior door, depending on complexity and materials. A pre-hung door typically takes around two hours, and larger doors like double French doors can take up to five hours. If you’re doing the project yourself, expect it to take a little longer than that, especially if you have little to no experience completing this type of project. Keep in mind that a pre-hung door can be installed about an hour or two faster than a slab door.
