"We used Best Rate 5 years ago to replace 50 feet of fence top cap on an old sagging fence that was lacking proper base supports. During the top cap removal they used wood shoring to keep the fence straight and fused 16 footers of kiln-dried redwood using 45 degree angle cuts and long 16" screws to create one very long top cap to straighten our sagging and crooked fence to look brand new. We had selected them because they paint all 6 sides of the replacement wood prior to installation, and we have a terrible time fighting wood rot at our place. Their repair has stood the test of time and still looks great at the 5 year mark, so when it came time to replace some termite infested top cap on the other side of our property, they were at the top of our list to do the job. This time, as a repeat customer, we had saved up 4 full days worth of repairs involving a lot of details, so we were a bit apprehensive as to whether it could all be accomplished, and also worried whether the experience would be different from 5 years ago. What followed was one of the most pleasant experiences we've had to date with any company. The people behind this company understand what the customer wants and they deliver on every point in flawless execution. The process moves smoothly and effortlessly from scheduling the first appointment to the final completion. You can always reach them and they always respond. They are very receptive and attentive to your needs and any special requests you may have. They were so neat during the 4 days of work it was hard to tell where they had been. They take care of your things, leaving no damage and there's absolutely no clean-up necessary after them. They take care of everything and they won't miss anything on your list. Instead of feeling the usual stresses, we actually enjoyed having them. We feel they are the best in town for wood construction. They do very high quality lasting repairs. You can certainly spend less with other companies, but end up having to do the repairs more frequently. "My 96 year old mom has a dog that she loves. This dog has been peeing on her bedroom carpet for 2 years. It smelled awful and made the whole 1000sq foot house stink. Mom and the dog aren't going anywhere so the carpet had to go but I didn't want to just replace it so the dog can pee up a new carpet.  <br /> Robert came over and I explained the situation.  He gave me an estimate.  I called back 6 weeks later.  They still had my estimate and scheduled the job.  Robert and his partner arrived on time.  They did the work as Robert had outlined in the estimate.  Rip up carpet and pad.  Wash the floor with a concrete cleaner.  Seal the concrete floor with an antimicrobial sealer which Robert recommended if the dog pees in there again (which sadly will probably happen).  Get rid of the old carpet.  They were finished in less than 2 hours.  They were polite and considerate.  <br /> Boy, does my house smell better!  All hail D-Mac. <br /> <br />"

"The job went smoothly and on time with one weather delay that backed up the job in front of us. Kirk Kolb the owner gave us plenty of notice of the delay. The job started exactly on time and finished as exactly as predicted. <br> <br>The work crew was professional always happy and worked non-stop each day and turned out a quality job. It was impressive to see such a coordinated crew smoothly transition through each of the job phases. At the end of each work day the areas around the house were cleaned up and ready for the dog and family to move around the outside of the house safely. <br> <br>The  previous two roofs were stripped off, all the fascia board was removed and completely replaced perfectly. The roof sheeting was still good except one sheet had to be replaced and was in the bid. All the roof was updated to the latest code and materials. <br> <br>Some of the roof design was archaic and  had been the cause of previous problems that were never upgraded by two earlier roofing companies. These problems were spotted on the initial inspection and incorporated in the bid. <br> <br>The review could go on and on about how impressed we are with Kolb Construction and Roofing Services.
