"Calling Karoly Windows & Doors, I kept regular communication with Danalyn and Cindy. Talking with them was not only necessary, but pleasant. They were always helpful and timely in addressing any question or concerns that I might have had. Karoly came out to the property which consisted of a front house and a separate mother-in-law apartment for a free estimate of PGT windows and front door replacement. He took measurements throughout the property, then tested the buildings for lead-based paint. A few days later he emailed me an estimate and a timeline of the project; I agreed with his proposal. The proposal stated it would take X amount of time for the windows to be fabricated from the manufacturer. The time came for the window to arrive but were not available yet. Karoly offered an explanation that the manufacturer was deluged with big client orders and that they were behind schedule. He suggested that we should wait another week and if the windows were still not available he would get me window from another manufacturer - Simonton for the same quoted price - I quickly agreed to that! I ended up getting the Simonton windows. His crew came out and with no nonsense work ethic installed my windows (including picture window) and door. They cleaned up after themselves and I am very happy about the entire process."

We were able to see all of the options to choose from, styles, colors, etc.  We wanted to replace our old sliding glass doors with French doors and Carey explained everything that needed to be done and helped us choose the proper layout for the side glass and French doors.  My husband and I had checked out a couple of competitors showrooms and I had fallen in love with a front door at one of them. "2020 has passed and we couldn't be happier with our completed first floor project, thanks to Jim Rutherford Construction. Jim was willing to tackle what other local well known contractors were either unwilling to consider or bid so high as to be unaffordable. Our project proved to be a technical challenge from the onset, raise the ground floor by almost a foot of concrete, completely rebuild the first floor by installing 3 impact French doors, 3 impact doors and 4 impact windows, cut off support an internal staircase including modifying framing around a dumbwaiter, reframe and replace every exterior wall from 4' down. Plus an added surprise rebuilding and repairing 45' of a heavily spalled concrete tie-beam in less than a week. We're still amazed at how quickly and confidently Jim set about taking on the project, he seemed to have it figured out before we even committed to getting started. He knew just right carpenters and subs to assign the work to. Once they began, they never stopped till the project was completed. Workmanship was outstanding, inspections were a breeze. I commend Jim and his crew for the quality of work and attention to detail, no shortcuts taken, stainless hardware/fasteners throughout and only pressure treated lumber. Add them all up and we have a completely new remodeled permitted downstairs ready to withstand the elements. It is without hesitation we'd recommend Jim Rutherford Construction for any project or home construction. Professional, polite and a pleasure to do business with."

"Provider showed up 1 hour late, and had lost all previous papers on our contacts. He would not have been there at all except that I called him when he was late. He knew he had a job in Gainesville but did not know where. <br /> He began the job 3 hours after he originally promised. He and quot;finishedand quot; in two hoursand quot;and was then apologetic for the lines not to have gotten cleaner but continued making out the bill. He had looked very closely at the lines before he started the job so I assumed that a person experienced in the work, could tell if it would be successful or not.. As far as I could see, the grout was no cleaner after he finished than before he started. <br /> He then informed me that another part of the job involving pressure washer, he could not do becaause of lack of equipment for my two story house. He said I would have to go somewhere else, which I will gladly do. <br /> <br />"

"I received Clay's contact information (he is located in Mandarin) as a referral for new home construction inspection services.  Most people wouldn't think to hire an independent inspector for new construction because the county sends someone at different intervals to ensure your home is being built according to code.  Hiring Clay was one of the smartest investments I could have made!!  He was VERY thorough! He spent several hours at my house during each stage of the process and found issues during all three inspections that were not addressed by the county inspector.  If I didn't hire Clay, these items would have gone undetected and definitely would not have been repaired.   <br /> I initially called him at 386-937-0224 to obtain a quote and he actually answered the phone the first time I tried to reach him.  I explained my situation (provided sq footage, etc) and he quoted me several options for the different types of inspections he offers (did I mention that Clay has built homes himself so he is very educated / experienced in this field).  We agreed on a framing inspection as the first step.  He stayed in touch with me as we progressed toward the date of inspection ensuring we had all of our bases covered.  I received the detailed report with pictures (within a day or two of his inspection) and he called me to go over everything he found, putting it in layman's terms so I could understand it.  He also spoke with my foreman (allowing me to avoid being the "middle man") to ensure the necessary repairs were completed in a timely manner.  Every time I had a question, Clay was available.  He never once made me feel like I was bothering him.  He was always very courteous and professional!   <br /> The same process ensued with the insulation inspection and the final walk-through.  We just closed on our house the other day and Clay was in the neighborhood so he stopped by to say hello and make sure everything was going well.  We have plans to contact Clay again when we hit the 11 month mark in the new home so he can help us with our 1 year warranty inspection.  I would highly recommend Clay to anyone looking for a professional home inspector! <br /> <br />"
