We wanted to remodel our newly purchased condo but didn't think we'd be able to afford all the projects we had in mind because of the limitations of our budget. A couple of local contractors in Gulf Shores had estimated a minimum cost of $40,000. We contacted Help-Around-the-House based on favorable Angie's List reviews and found that they more than live up to their great reputation. Dan Parks and his team worked closely with us from start to finish, not only helping us to stay within our budget but also coming up with ideas that were better than what we originally had in mind. All of the work was of high quality, yet it was done amazing fast.  We couldn't be more satisfied with the final result.  We definitely recommend Dan Parks and the Help-Around-the-House team to anyone who wants high quality work done at a fair price.

"The estimator was very knowledgeable and explained his products and services very well.  He provided a detailed plan and estimate.
The installation was done all in one day - including removal of the old counter top and the installation of the new counter top - and it was done on the pre-scheduled day.  Sears was excellent at accommodating our scheduling restrictions.  The new counter top looks nice and we are very happy with the result.
There were a few glitches - the garbage disposal leaked and needed service, and it was tough to get an updated estimate when we made a mid-stream change - but we were still very happy with the result.
Note that the Sears office that we dealt with is in Sharon Hill PA, not in Windsor Mill MA as listed by Angie's List, and the corporate headquarters is in Longwood FL.

"Mr. Lewis was prompt, professional and true to his word. We needed the painting done with a quick turn around, and right before the holidays no less. Mr. Lewis said he had a crew that would come in and paint both upstairs and downstairs in 5 days, and he actually did. He showed up when he said he would, and he had several guys with him to help. The days that he wasn't there first thing, he always told me about, and it still didn't affect the time line. I had gotten two other quotes, and both were either much higher, or it would be one person for 2 weeks or they couldn't start right away.
I had actually just finished overseeing a large remodel job with a contractor with multiple subs working inside and out. And out of the 7mths of working on the house, I can say that Mr. Lewis showed more professionalism than many of the subs. I honestly expected to have to wait, or to have excuses as to why he couldn't work, etc. But I got none of it. And it turned out that I couldn't be on the job site everyday, and yet Mr. Lewis and his crew got everything done. I felt like my house was in very capable hands. And most importantly, the paint job looks great. Completely professional. I would absolutely use him again.
