"I had a leaking faucet in my shower. So I called NE Renovation to see if they could fix it.  They asked me about my problem and the name of the faucet however the name plate was worn and I could not determine the name so I did not know the type of faucet it was. A technician came to my house and in seconds after seeing the faucet knew exactly what was needed. He returned a week later with new faucet parts and quickly replaced the failing parts.

He was very professional and helpful in describing what he was doing. The repaired faucet works beautifully. I would definitely use them again on any project that I need help with.

It is comforting to know a professional resource is available quickly with a simple phone call."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"Furnace job:
Allen replaced our ancient Utica Boiler with a new and efficient Buderus., as well as updating all the supporting hardware He did a fantastic job. He came in, assessed the work, made some recommendations (such as installing individual zone pumps), issued an estimate on how long it would take him and how much it would cost. Allen came in and performed all the work he specified in the time he said for the cost he said. Very positive experience.
On the shower and toilets, again, Allen did exactly what he said he would do. We didn't get an estimate for this work so I can's say how well he did coming in on budget, but he did perform the work in the exact amount of time he said he would.

"It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased for my mother. It was a horrible experience for both of us.  The guy who did the original review of the job was great. He was a real nice guy and seemed knowledgeable. He gave us some ideas and came out on a weekend to evaluate the job. He said that they were kind of busy and would schedule out for the first week in September. That was acceptable because we were not in a rush. We hadn't heard anything as of the last week of August so we called because we knew that we that some items, such as a tub, shower and vanity had to be purchased and we didn't know if we had to buy them or not. He said that he was too busy to begin as anticipated and would have to push it out. We pushed it out a week, then another week, then another week. About 1 1/2 months went by and we were trying to pin them down with a date before Thanksgiving. We ended up having to contact the owner of the company who said they would start the next week. They started that next week and started gutting everything and then they left it hanging for about 2-3 weeks. There was no response to email or phone. Finally we got hold of the owner again and was able to get them to come in and finish the job. It wasn't the best job in the world with rough walls, paint splatters, a ceiling exhaust fan only exhausted into the attic (not externally), and dirty.

The job was decent overall, the price was great, but hey still owe us money. We paid an additional $400 because we had some additional work that needed to be done to bring the electrical up to code...that's fine. The Materials allowance was $1200 and my mother purchased everything on her own with the exception of the toilet which was a $150 cutoff. So by our math, she is due $1,050. She did have some additional work performed, for which she put an additional $400 deposit for the electrician, and owes the remainder: $238. So by this math, $1,050 - 238 = $812. Providing payment in the amount of $800 would be sufficient to put this behind us.
