"Jack communicated very clearly and worked out a schedule where he would come very early to accommodate a time that fit for us. Our schedules did not permit us to stay while he worked, but he worked quickly and we had no issue with my wife or I not being there while he finished his business. He made an extra trip to a local hardware store to purchase items we needed. He was in and out, and serviced both doors we requested, in under 2 hours. He was friendly and polite and helped my wife arrange payment which was quick and easy. We highly recommend Jack for future services."

"Frank did amazing work on my stairwell. He replaced and repaired my stair treads while also adding decorative panels along the wall. He transformed the way my narrow stairwell appears. I highly recommend and will hire him for future projects"

"Ron Scott, the owner, came out in mid-September and viewed the home. He made several good suggestions about making carpentry repairs that would prevent damage and wood rot in future. Ron also pointed out the siding on the front showed water damage from age and suggested replacing siding on the garage. He promised an estimate within and day on the painting and siding and the garage with Hardy board, and complete the estimate of the carpentry, wood/trim replacement after his crew inspected. An estimate arrived by email late that evening. It was reasonable and including the specific repairs and adjustments he had recommended. He said it might be 6 weeks before he could get a crew out. Fortunately, White Dog called about a week later and said they could send a crew out earlier, if it was convenient. A four person crew showed up in early October and began work removing the damaged siding, rotted wood and preparing the rest of the house for painting. Tony and his three crew members showed up promptly at 9AM every weekday and left around 6PM. Ron came out on the 2nd day and went over the carpentry and repair estimate. He also suggested that replacement of the lap siding on the garage, in time, might not match up well with the rest of the front of the home and putting Hardy board siding across the whole of the front might be an option and gave me an additional quote for the whole front. I agreed to the carpentry and replacing the entire front with Hardy board lap siding. Work continued 6 workdays to completion. It was necessary for me to communicate the specifics of the adjustments and repairs to the gutters and other carpentry items mentioned in the contract but not communicated clearly to the crew. I had noticed that a different brand of Hardy board had been used to finish up the small pieces at the end of the job. It appeared they were damaged to some extent, as if used before. I mentioned this to the crew prior to priming the house and again to Noah Scott, at the final walk inspection. They did not admit not all the siding was new, nor did they deny it either. Ron was particularly sensitive when I first mentioned this in the review and insisted all the siding was new, even though different manufacturers. I suggested producing the invoices showing 2 different purchases of Hardy board. Still waiting to see the invoices. The preparation, caulking, and prime/final coats were expertly done. The house looked brand new. I paid the extra $350 to have them use Sherwin Williams' Duration paint. The last paint job was done with Duration and it held up exceptionally well. As I went back to wash the windows, spruce up the outside, I found that some of the wood trim replaced had the screws driven into the widow tracks, instead of the widow frame. Also, storm widows and doors had not been reinstalled with more air gap than I would have preferred. Two outside lights did not work and it was necessary to reinstall them. I had made White Dog aware of all of these, the whole crew came out as quickly as weather would permit and reattached some of the trim properly and caulked and repainted. I repaired the other items myself. Additionally, White Dog offered to paint an interior room or other handyman work to compensate for the inconvenience."

"I reached out to the provider immediately after purchasing the day of service.  We connected 2 days later.  He indicated they were very busy at this time and it would be several weeks (about a month) before he could get to me.  He indicated the day consisted of 2 men, 4 hours each.  I wasn't in a particular hurry so that was fine.  He asked that I provide a list of activities and pictures, which I did quickly.  As the scheduled date drew closer, I contacted them one week in advance to confirm our appointment for the following week.  I did not hear from them so 5 days later I reached out via text to confirm our appointment for 9am that Monday.  I received a text confirmation very quickly.  At 9am on that Monday they called to say that would not be able to make it due to mechanical problems with their truck.  They were very nice and I understand things happen but explained we'd made these arrangements a month ago, confirmed them on Friday and I'd made arrangements through work to work from home that day.  He was apologetic but indicated they could not be out until later that week.  He did offer a discount for the trouble, but more on that later.  The men came on the revised schedule date and were on time and called in advance.  They were both very nice and listened to my needs.  Whlle discussing my list I added the need to have a security light installed in the back of my home in a dark corner.  I didn't have the light and asked them to pick one up while purchasing the other materials.  They called from the store to discuss the light they'd found.  A battery powered LED motion detector light.  I appreciated them calling and discussing.  Unfortunately, what I didn't realize until that night after it had been installed was that it was not bright at all.  I located the packaging and found it was actually a porch light not a security light and only 92 lumens (aka not bright).  I have since replaced with a battery powered motion detector security light with 250 lumens (bright).  Swapping was very simple as there is no wiring for either light, just a matter of unscrewing the first light and screwing in the new one.  I also had a broken basement window that needed repair.  After offering some solutions, I opted for replacement with plexi-glass and glazing over.  When finished, it looked fantastic and was impressed.  It was wet so I didn't touch it but a few days later I did and found that the plexi glass used was very thin and pliable to the touch.  I'm not exactly sure why you'd use such a thin sheet of plexiglass for that task but maybe there is a reason? It may be stronger than it looks and may hold up just fine, but afterwards would have felt better had it have been thicker and stronger.  As for my clogged waterline to my ice maker, they quickly resolved that issue and suggested a filter on the line.  I didn't know there was such a thing so I appreciated their insights and opted for it.  They were right, ice cubes are indeed much clearer.  As for the remaining items, disconnecting my alarm, installing a kitchen faucet, filling some gaps around my foundation, replacing an electrical outlet, I was very happy with all of those tasks.  They finished exactly 4 hours later.  They cleaned up after themselves and took me around to look at their work.  When it came time to reimburse them for the materials, the amount given was $150 more than the materials?  I asked what this was for and they'd indicated that in addition to the 8 hours I'd already paid for that I'd booked them for the afternoon as well at a discount, an additional $150.  This apparent miscommunication came from our phone conversation from the Monday morning at 9am that they'd called and had to reschedule their appointment.  They'd mentioned then about offering  a discount for my trouble in having to reschedule, but that apparently was a discount off purchasing an additional 4 hours each and not a discount from the 4 hours each I'd already paid.  I indicated that I'd not asked for an additional 8 hours (4 hours each) and we agreed without incident that there would be no charge for it, after all, they had already completed my entire list and it only took them the 4 hours each...paying an additional $150 for the afternoon would have been paying and having nothing for them to do.  Purchasing the additional 8 hours (4 hours each) for the afternoon may be an excellent value for some depending on the size of the list and length of time for each project, so it's not that it is not potentially a good deal but I would not agree to it in advance as I would have no idea if my list would take them 1 hour or 8 hours.  I would expect them to look at my list and photos and help me determine if they would need the additional 8 hours (4 hours each).  Clearly in my case, they did not as they completed everything in the 8 hours (4 hours each) I'd originally purchased.  Overall, I was satisfied.  What I would do differently is 1) ensure all terms are upfront and clear in writing (email/text) so there isn't any miscommunication and 2) I would have reviewed some of the materials more closely before the work was done (light fixture, plexiglass).  I don't hire a lot of contractors so these lessons learned may not be specific to these contractors but things you should do generally and I'll know to do so next time.
