"Besides the siding, we also had the Windows replaced and the roof replaced. And all of it was done in about a week! When you realize that everything had to be pulled off before the new could go on, that seemed really fast for us. They were also able to schedule some bathroom updates, sinks/countertops & a shower stall with seat, to start and finish the same week. Great coordination and quality work."

"He contacted me very promptly and came to look at the project. He explained to me what the problem was and stated he did not have the proper special equipment to make the repair. He recommended a company that he felt sure would be able to do the work."

"Melvin and his crew were amazing! Very professional and timely. I had stucco cracking on the side and back of the house. It had been repaired in the past by the builder. However, it was a terrible job and quickly started doing it again. It has now been done correctly and looks better than when the builder did it. Matches and blends in with the existing stucco. You cannot tell where the crack was . They did a wonderful job and will be using them in the future for painting inside my home. I highly recommend Melvin and his crew!! Thanks guys for a job well done!!!!"

"Jim and the team were one of the only companies who actually showed up to bid, got back to use quickly and subsequently came to do the work. We had them repoint a number of areas around our home as well as sure up the footing on our brick entryway which was the main point of concern. While here they noticed the concrete cap on our chimney needed replacing and we went ahead and had them do that too. 90% of the work performed has been great, but we are 12 months on now from the initial work and the entryway continues to shift and overall break the repointing work Jim's team did. To their credit, they've been back out twice to repoint again, the first time after 6 weeks when it broke, then the work lasted about 4 months until it broke again. They didn't come back out again until several months after that and this last repair unfortunately didn't last more than a week. The repointing itself was great, it matched the color of grout on our historic home fairly well. The issue and reason for the lower star rating is that unfortunately whatever foundation work may have been done by the team did not resolve the foundation problems the entryway has and we are back on the hunt for a new company who can actually help us fix our problem."

"It took me several months to get Phil scheduled and rescheduled, including a lot of chasing by me. When he came to do the job he was supposed to be accompanied by a second person, but was not. This limited the work he could do because 2 people were needed. Therefore, the job stretched out over a few days. During the work, my garage floor was covered in spots of plaster and paint. Inside the house there was drywall splatter and drops from the main bathroom across my entire kitchen and living room, up the stairs, down the hallway into the other room that needed work. No tarps were used throughout the house except on the stairs and in the rooms (but there was still significant clean up there because the tarps did not cover it all). The clean up was twice a day for a couple days and by me. He said he could clean up, but "would I rather pay him to do the work or clean up." The job was paid by time. In addition, there are lots of blue tape particles stuck in the ceiling paint along the wall line that leaves a blue tint to the walls in both rooms. There was also two gashes left in the bathroom wall (made by a box knife) that he did not tell me about. When I pointed it out, he said he must have done it when he fell off the ladder. He did put some putty in it right before he left. I am happy with the end product, both ceilings look good, but overall I felt he was not professional including the difficulties in getting him scheduled (3 months) adding in the clean up I had to do; the ranking is fair. I have used other contractors who took a lot of care in respecting my property and my time who did not cost a much as he did."

"I contacted the owner, John for an estimate and he came over the very next day to give me a bid.  I got 6 bids and he was the only one who did a drawing and was one of 2 that gave me what I consider a formal written bid.  I asked  to enlarge my porch and John explained from an engineering perspective why that was not a good idea which I appreciated because he could have just done it and charged me more.  I also appreciated that he was trying to work with me and we were able to salvage part of my stairs and the approach to my driveway which lowered my overall cost.    I felt his bid was very reasonable and was in line with 3 other bids for the job.  He also noticed part of the approach where a corner was broke and added that to the bid as well to fix.  John asked for 1/2 payment which I did not have at the moment and he accepted 1/3 payment until I got the rest.  Within a few days I had the rest and John scheduled the crew to start.  Juan and his crew came on Sat am and tore out the porch and prepared the molds for the porch.  The crew returned on Monday and tore out the driveway and prepped for pouring on Tuesday as well as poured the porch and retaining wall.
On Tuesday, when I noticed that part of the retaining wall was not poured  as John had drawn on the quote, Juan took care of it right away and had his crew build the mold for that part as well.  That same day, the rest of the retaining wall and driveway was poured.  The crew was very efficient and seemed to work well together.  When part of my brick came out near the retaining wall, the crew fixed that for me as well.  They refinished my steps and sealed the driveway and I believe they actually refinished my approach because it looks shiny like the refinished porch.  They crew was very polite and courteous and you could tell they took pride in their work.  I was also impressed with how well they cleaned up the work space after finishing."

FAQs for traditional stucco repair or partially replace projects in Pleasant Hill, MO

Minor stucco fixes—like sealing small cracks or adding fresh caulk—often wrap up in an hour or two. Larger jobs that call for cutting out damaged sections, installing new lath, and layering fresh stucco can stretch to three or four days because each coat needs time to cure. A pro removes loose material, cleans and dampens the area, applies a bonding agent, and builds up new layers, matching texture and restoring the wall’s weather shield.

Watch for a stucco surface that stays damp days after a storm, develops dark stains, or feels soft or spongy under light pressure. Inside, moisture rings, peeling paint, or soft drywall around windows point to the same issue. Any of these red flags mean water is trapped behind the siding, and it’s time to call a stucco pro before rot or mold sets in.

Give your stucco a once-over every spring and fall. Semiannual checks let you catch hairline cracks, stains, or damp spots before they snowball into pricey repairs. Keep a flashlight handy, look closely around windows and doors, and call a pro if you notice anything soft or discolored. Staying ahead of minor issues protects both your curb appeal and your home’s weather barrier.

A pro starts by scraping away loose material, then cleans and lightly wets the area so new stucco will stick. After brushing on a bonding agent, they build fresh layers, letting each coat cure before adding the next. The final step is matching the texture and color so the patch blends in and the wall regains full weather protection.

Think of repair as a patch: the pro fixes only the visible crack or hole. Remediation goes deeper—crews strip away the compromised stucco, correct the root problem (often water or mold), then rebuild the wall. If tests show structural rot or trapped moisture, remediation is the safer, longer-lasting route; otherwise, a straightforward repair often does the trick.
