"Richard, from Pexas Premier Plumbing, and I had a very pleasant conversation first - he was so personable, friendly, down-to-earth with a very interesting background. In getting down to business - I am having a walk-in tub installed and that company said that I would need a "rider" to ensure more hot water to help my 40 gal. existing water heater. The 3 people that I've spoken to had never heard of it. Richard, with his utmost honesty, recommended that I try the tub sans the rider to see if I really need it. Problem solved! He just saved me $400-500. A company that employs a gentleman like Richard will get my future business. I will ask for him again. Good job, Richard and Texas Premier Plumbing."

"I was in the process of calling various companies to get a bid on a new water heater. In the end, we were actually located outside of Red Lion's working area, but despite this they were VERY helpful. Not only did they take the time to educate me on the different types of water heaters available, but they also gave me a list of questions I should ask the other companies before selecting someone. I would have easily chosen Red Lion Plumbing had we been in their work area. Based on just their phone etiquette, helpfulness, and professionalism on the phone, I would highly recommend this company!"

"My 2100 sqft home was built in the 1960?s with no access to the attic, so going in I knew it would be a challenge to replace the existing galvanized piping using PEX.   <br /> After receiving multiple quotes ranging from A+ rated plumbers to ads found on craiglslist, I learned the A+ rated companies all had one thing in common?.They used Type-A PEX in lieu of the red / blue type commonly sold at home depot and other big box stores. After spending a considerable amount of time researching the various types of PEX, I decided that PEX-A was the way to go. It uses cold-expansion fittings (in lieu of clamps) that maintains the pipe diameter at each fitting. For those not familiar with clamp-type fittings, they require a smaller diameter end connection for the pipe to fit over which reduces the water flowrate. So if you have a 1/2? pipe feeding the shower for example, it?s actually closer to a 1/4?.  PEX-A fittings, on the other hand, use a tool to expand the over the pipe (not inside) with no reduction of flowrate.  For me, it was a no brainer?.    <br /> I elected to hire Jason because not only did he offer the most competitive price, but because he was very knowledgable and clearly explained the installation process to me.   <br /> Jason executed the job in 3 days and left us without water for only a few hours!  He cares about his customers and went above and beyond the scope of work to ensure I was satisfied.   <br /> I highly recommend Jason for all your plumbing needs! <br />"

"Everything went great. After reading numerous reviews I called and spoke to Steve, who was very easy to talk to. I told him about the history and we discussed various options. I immediately knew I had finally called the right company. His crew came out the next day, (on a weekend!) and got the job done. The crew was friendly, professional, and got the job done in less than 3 hrs. I was also impressed with the quality of the install and how they cleaned up, including taking away the old unit. The best part was the price. Like they said, they specialize in water heaters; I had gotten 2 other quotes from other plumbing companies that were each over $1000. more for the same job and product! Houston Water Heaters charged a fair price, did great work, and did it on a weekend! Thanks again!"

"EPW plumbing and Repipe specialists recently re-piped my entire house which is a fairly large two-story home in the Spring, Texas area. The crew did an excellent job with the re-pipe work and we were very pleased with how they cleaned up after the job was finished. In addition, the crew that patched the sheet rock did a fantastic job in matching the textures of my walls which vary across my home. I would y recommend using EPW and Repipe specialists for your re-piping project."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Port Bolivar, TX

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
