"I have been a customer of Hedayat for well over 9 years, from the time his ad appeared in Angies List. He is an expert on all things carpets which means as an appraiser, in addition to the cleaning and repair services provided, the quality of the work is the best it gets. My carpets thanks to the care given, all continue to look as they did when I brought them back to the US from the Middle East 14 years ago. I highly recommend Art Connection to those members who are seeking expert evaluation of and care for their prized Oriental carpets."

"Robert is FANTASTIC!!! The regulations that a typical home inspector must work by are not as thorough as most home buyers would prefer...luckily Robert is not quite typical. He is thorough to a T exploring the home from basement to chimney top. I would hire him for every home I look to buy in my future. Very confident and happy with his work."

"I used 4u inspection to inspected a 2017 single family house. I had an inspection done virtually due to COVID which understandable but I was really disappointed with the service. The inspection was scheduled at 9:00, I was surprised inspection was done at 10:30 so basically an hour and half for a single-family inspection. I was moving some items to our house and in my first couple hours I see the inspector missed an obvious problem with the refrigerator, every time you open and close the fridge it makes a loud knocking noise, the noise is so obvious that I think he did not even open the fridge, 4 window shades had a damage cord, a window was not opening properly. I spoke to them on the phone before I post any reviews and the inspector manager was polite but claimed that the inspector is not suppose to check shades or windows and that they only need to check the refrigerator water connection and if it cold and it is not their responsibility to check if there is noise coming from the fridge ? . The roof was inspected the old way with binocular which has limited vision. Advanced inspections companies use drone to do this. I thought I would give an honest review for others to know what you might get from their service. I think I would have saved my self the inspection money and couple thousand dollars if I have done the inspection myself as all the issue found by the inspector were really minor but missing a major issue."

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Port Republic, MD

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
