"I would highly recommend Procrete. They are a hard working family business. They were efficient and pleasant to deal with. The work was high quality for a reasonable price. The start date changed a few times due to weather conditions but they called and updated me each time and were there when they said. I'm one of those people that usually finds something wrong with everything, but can't say enough about The great experience we had and the awesome patio I have. Thanks Procrete"

"This was my second time using A-List Concrete. The outstanding work they accomplished replacing damaged sidewalk sections at my old home made this a no-brainer decision. Ron and his Team did another AMAZING job replacing the damaged concrete walkway at my new home. The workmanship is top-notch and the price was very reasonable. I was really impressed (again) by their attention to detail, including the clean-up. They even carefully replaced the sod pieces on my lawn, in addition to ensuring that my lawn and adjacent driveway was completely clean after the job. I give A-List Concrete my HIGHEST recommendation for ANY concrete work you may need in the South Jersey area."

"Mike came over to do an inspection and evaluation. He pointed out certain issues to me that we didn't see before. Then he came up with a budget friendly plan for us. He was one of 3 Angie's List top basement solutions vendors I had contacted. We didn't go with this company because we wanted a more aggressive plan for the situation and his plan didn't go far enough for us. However, it was a good proposal and Mike was very gracious when I let him know we'd opted to go another way, sending me a nice email. I also like that he focused on his own work and didn't question or criticize the competition."

"It went great. First, the sales person was very helpful explaining the mold testing and remediation process. He went through the steps that would be taken and then he followed up with the results. On the french drain,/sump pump change out/ wall rebuild, it was quick and painless. Again my sales person was very clear in the process and the steps. When he came for a walk through there were some options in what would occur in the installation and he made fully aware of any potential changes in cost (there were none though). The workers came on time (ok a bit early) and finished early as well. Finally, they were helpful and clear walking through all the changes that occurred and the guarantees given."

"I did thorough research for a concrete company to install my basketball pad and came upon Pete from Precision Decorative Concrete.  Pete was very customer service oriented, professional and responded to my voicemail in a timely manner.  Pete came out to my house and listened to what I wanted to be done, He was very knowledgeable and explained the process thoroughly to me.  I was not given a run around of what I should need or shouldn't need and explained there could be some hiccups. Pete provided a free quote with what was to be done and with a great price that could not be beat.  I contacted Pete numerous times on going back and forth of what I wanted to have done and he was very understanding with my questions and concerns and returned my calls in a timely manner.   <br /> The day of the job Pete and his guys were on time and started work immediately.  They understood my concerns for the pier footing for the basketball goal and reassured me that he would make this like it was his own.  Pete and the guys worked very hard and determined from start to finish and completed the job in a timely manner with no faults and were very clean.  After the concrete cured, Pete came back on the weekend and sealed the pad as well as do some amazing Decorative work by scoring in the Free Throw Perimeter and 3 Point lines.  I have never seen this done before but Pete brought it to my attention that he would be able to do it and we ran with it.  I have gotten so many compliments of the basketball pad with the etching of the free throw perimeter and 3 point line and am very happy!  I watched Pete do the whole scoring and was amazed by his workmanship, especially the free hand of the inner 3 point line. <br /> I cant say it enough, the basketball pad and pier looks amazing and is great for my daughters, could not ask for a better company than Pete and his guys from Precision Decorative Concrete.  I will be referring them to anyone that I know that needs concrete work done.  A++ company.  Pete May, Precision Decorative Concrete, Thank you very much for making my family happy."

"This team was nothing short of fantastic.  Phil came out to access what was going on and to make sure I wasn't throwing money away as originally we were only going to get an existing drain fixed which was only taken care of the down spouts.  The problem was the water was coming up through concrete because the sun room was an addition which lays 2 inches lower the than the concrete slab of the house.  The communication was great every step of the way.  They showed up at 7AM and went right to work.  Very courteous, friendly and professional.  I was amazed how particular they were.  They cut out a portion of my concrete patio and installed a draining system there as well.  The cement work was incredible after they installed that portion.  Very meticulous. <br /> Through out the process Phil walked me through and explained every bit of the work to me. <br /> Don't hesitate if you have a water problem.  These guys are great and very honest. <br /> I will be using them to clean the system out semiannual.  Phil said they will also do a walk around to assure maintenance beyond the cleaning is not necessary. <br /> Frank <br />"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Port Republic, NJ

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
