Small jobs welcome

"Francisco, with FCT Remodeling did an excellent job replacing our small bathroom exhaust fan with a larger, more effective unit. He was professional, knowledgeable, and clearly knew what he was doing. One thing we especially appreciated was that he took a video of the ductwork inside the wall and shared it with us, which gave us confidence that everything was installed correctly. His pricing was fair, he communicated well throughout the project, and the quality of his work exceeded our expectations. We were very impressed with the entire experience and will definitely use his services again in the future. Highly recommended!"

"The first appointment went really well. Both Brian and Caleb were wonderful with listening to what we wanted for our house and the new windows to replace our old cracked ones. The technology is amazing and I can't wait to get those windows in my house!!"

"Everything they have ever done for me has been beautiful, perfection. For example , where they repaired the drywall you can't even tell anything was done. He and his workers are always very polite."

"Walt and Tammy were GREAT to work with, and you can believe all the nice things said about them on this website. The first guy I got (as a recommendation from a Realtor) was pathetic, out of his element, and I didn't go with him. Walt & Tammy are pros, are honest, and I will use them again if I have the opportunity. Having two of them working at the same time is a plus. They had to come out twice, because I had to special order some window parts they needed. Both times they were here when they said they would be. Oh, and they charged a very fair price for their work. Don't worry, you will be in good hands with these folks!"

"This is an addendum to my earlier review. Brad painted my house in 2011. It's several years now and the paint has held up well. I have no problems with that. All the things I said about Brad in my earlier review are true -- he's a wonderful person who does his best to deliver a quality product for a fair price. I think the problem is with the fella who was supervising the painting. I believe a shortcut was taken that didn't show up until a year later -- one that Brad wouldn't have seen when he came to do the final inspection or I'm sure he would have caught it. After about a year, the spaces between the siding started to really show. I thought this was just normal until I saw my neighbor's house being painted. Those painters spent the best part of a day spackling/preparing/caulking the places where the siding comes together. I wanted to see the difference and waited. It's been longer than it took for the separation to appear on my house and we've had an exceptionally wet winter and hot summer. But theirs is fine. This is something you can't fix easily - it's a preparatory step that can't be fixed without going back and re-painting the house which wouldn't need it yet otherwise. I'm really disappointed. The picture on the left was taken right after the house was painted. The picture on the right was taken a few years after."

"Pacific NW cabinetry did an excellent job. Peter was great to work with. He listened well and worked hard to make the design layout fit my vision. He gave daily updates on work including photos. He responded quickly to questions and communication was very good. Kelsey was very helpful with the designing. She was patient and worked help me get the look I was hoping for. The carpentry workmanship, quality design and fit of all pieces was amazing. All the people working for them, electrical, tile, painting, plumbing did quality work and if anything needed to be addressed it was taken care of. All work went according to a posted schedule so there was a clear communication of the steps of the project. They were also sensitive to the neighbors in the vicinity and made sure to prevent the extra traffic from being an issue. I was very happy with the completed project and very impressed with the company."

FAQs for window well covers service projects in Portland, OR

Window well covers are a good idea for many reasons. While window wells let the light in, a cover on the well window prevents debris and moisture from entering the window well. They act as a storm barrier for basement windows. They prevent anyone from falling in the window well. They can also act as a deterrent from possible intruders and keep out animals.

Window well covers are a definite benefit during the winter months. It will prevent the snow and ice from getting inside your window wells. Apart from cleaning the snow from the top of the window well cover, they don’t require maintenance during the winter. They can also prevent debris and leaves from clogging up the window well and potentially damaging window frames.

Whether the window well cover will keep the rain out depends on the type you buy. Mesh window well covers keep debris out of the window well and prevent falling accidents, but these aren’t designed to keep rain out. However, some covers keep the rain out and the warmth in while still letting light in. Additionally, you may need to install flashing or weatherproofing strips to make sure the cover is watertight where it meets your home's wall.
