"My tenants called to report a sewer smell in the basement - fearing the worst, I found Greg on Angie's List and called him up, asked him to take a look. He was available right away and went over to the property. He inspected the basement looking for signs of mold & mildew, but didn't find anything. Determined the basement drain trap was dry and gases were likely trickling back up from the city sewer line. He advised my tenants to just add water every week or so to keep the trap full. <br /> He called and explained all this to me, and told me he was just going to charge me for a service call instead of the hourly rate, since there was really nothing wrong for him to fix. I appreciated that and I will definitely call him again if another issue comes up! <br />"

"I would use this service again if I could afford the full price, and that's why the 'B' overall . The other reason I rank them a 'B' on professionalism, and this is true of many kinds of repair/remodel people that come into your home, is their boots are dirty from other jobs, etc., and they don't put covers on them or take them off. So that is a general comment, not just this service. Once they've cleaned a drain, they are standing in the shower running water to make sure everything works, what do you think is going to happen next? The floors and carpets get dirty from the wet, dirty boots and then it's clean up time for you. That's exactly what happened. My hallway carpet has to replaced because of a bathroom remodel. Be sure to ask them when they arrive, most have the boot covers in their trucks. Otherwise they are professional. <br />"

"All was well at first. Then, the drain started backing up again. Finally, I called them back and found out that it was just past the 90-day guarantee. I asked if they would stand behind their work, they were pretty rude and finally hung up. Admittedly, although I was quiet calm and professional, I did express my displeasure. I pointed out that I didn't think they had addressed the root problem initially, and I expected them to stand behind their work. I said that I guess I'd have to call someone else and write of my disappointment in their service. That's when he hung up. when I called back, he basically said he had plenty of customers and didn't need me. So, you can take from that what you will. They didn't fix the problem, and they feel they don't need to treat their customers well if the problem persists."

"We had a sewage smell coming from one of our bathrooms. I had thought something must be clogged in the toilet drain, but the plumber immediately figured out that it was coming from a floor drain in the shower (a shower which we never use), and he explained that the standing water in the U-trap eventually evaporates if unused, and this allows sewage odor to back up. All that needed be done was run the shower for a few minutes, and that took care of it."

"We had a leak in the basement and the plumber came as soon as we called to come and identify the source. He was recommended by a friend and had excellent reviews on Angie's List. We will be using Gould's again for our next plumbing need... <br />"
