"I hired MA Design and Construction Co to do my bathroom remodel at the recommendation of a friend who also used them for a bathroom/kitchen remodel, and I would definitely hire them again. Not only did they finish right on schedule, but they understood my desire to stay within budget, and never tried to pressure me to overspend or increase costs. They did not start construction until all of the materials were in hand, or in stock, which made the renovation go even smoother. I also had some plumbing issues arise (old valves that needed replacing) which they were able to replace without adding time to the schedule. Marc, Raquel, and team were great and very responsive. Raquel’s design suggestions were really helpful to me, as I wasn’t 100% sure what would look good in a small bathroom. I would definitely recommend their work!"

"Brandon did a number of other smaller jobs we asked throughout the original SOW and was receptive to everything we asked for. We could not be happier with his work and character as a professional and person. He provides a line-by-line item SOW, down the cost of material for masks and gloves. As the SOW changed, Brandon continuously updated the document. He saved us some money numerous times as portions of the SOW were deemed unnecessary by either him or us. That is rare. Highly recommend Superior to anyone! It's like hiring family members to do the work, but the family members actually show up and finish! "It went great. I gave North Shore some of the bedrooms upstairs. They were in rough shape. They completed the prep work and painted the rooms as we agreed upon. I'm doing the rest of the renovations myself. So North Shore helped cut down my workload. The rooms North Shore worked on look great. Would definitely hire again."

"Mike and one of his workers came out and did their investigation right on time with the appointment we set. What they ended up finding was that my shower was leaking down into the wall because it wasn't caulked properly, which in turn ended up in my basement ceiling and then down into the basement wall. They opened up the ceiling and wall and found mold growing. The only reason we never noticed was that there is a sheetrock ceiling in the basement that the water was dripping onto but there's also a drop ceiling that hid the water damage that was occurring. In the end, all of the water damage was repaired, the mold was remedied and the shower got re-caulked. No issues since!"

"He used bead board only on the front of the island, although we had discussed using it on three sides.  I asked him to finish it the way it was written out on the estimate.  He had to purchase more bead board and then re-do the bead board work already done.
For the counter top, Dan used 1/2" plywood that warped overnight so he had to install a heavier duty plywood the next day.   As requested, he painted the top black, but he also went ahead and painted black the two columns that run to the ceiling.  I had him re-paint the columns back to the original white.  He did not finish off the edges, but rather used a router to give it the "finished look".  He said half-round or a bull-nose finish would not work with regular usage.  As a finish coat, he used a spray can lacquer.  I was not pleased that he used the spray can in the house, but he said he did it "all the time" without problem.  The next day I had particulate residue all over my furniture, floors, television, window blinds, etc.  I spent a good amount of time dusting and cleaning the room.  The surface of the counter top was streaky, with swipe marks on it; an unattractive surface.   The base molding work was fine.  No comments there. I contacted Dan the next day to let him know how the lacquer particulate residue had settled on the furniture and how the counter top surface was streaky and smudged. 
2/21/12 Update:  Dan returned to address the counter top surface. He sanded and repainted the top with another coat of black paint and returned again later the same day to apply a lacquer coat.  This time around he used a roller to apply the lacquer.  The surface dried smoothly without streaks."

"The 2 men that were sent to perform the service were friendly and professional.  They were on time and I received a reminder phone call the day before.  However, the wait time for an open appointment was about 3 months. I called in October and they scheduled me for January, but I was in no rush so I scheduled.  I opted to have the additional service of cleaning and tuning up my furnace motor, which seemed to be in rough shape (result of not changing filter often enough), and applying the disinfectant solution and spray since the additional cost for these services seemed fair.  (My ducts were not cleaned for over 10 years and I saw for myself the condition of the motor.)  I in no way felt pressured or like I was getting a "hard sell".
I purchased the $88 deal on Angie's List, which I admit makes the total cost seem like a huge mark up.  However, after subtracting the additional work I had performed, the total cost was in line or a bit lower than other quotes I received or found online for duct and dryer vent cleaning.  I also noted the writing on the deal that stated there would be an additional cost for more than one main line and return (I have 2 main lines and 4 returns), so I was not shocked by the price. I think disclosing an approximate price for these additional parts would satisfy a lot of the complaints I have read.
One problem I had was with the dryer vent cleaning.  After the service was performed, I noticed my clothes were still wet after going through the dryer.  I took the line apart myself and pulled out handfuls of lint.  I called to report this because I was afraid of the fire hazard and just wanted some assurance that the other work was not faulty.  The response I got from the receptionist was not great. I was offered a refund for dryer vent cleaning (~$30) or for someone to come back, but no apology or desire to make sure the other work was done right.  Luckily, the owner was in the office.  He got on the phone and was excellent.  He promised to come by the next day (a Saturday) and check all work.  He arrived as promised, inspected and took pictures of the air ducts and gave the dryer vent a second look (apparently I did not remove all the lint when I took it apart, so he made sure it was done right).  Honestly, he saved this review.  I would use this company again because I know if a mistake is made, they will make it right (despite some of the bumps mentioned).

"I've owned a home in Massachusetts for over 20 years, and I can say with confidence that this is the best contractor experience I have ever had regrading having work done on my house. Robert Milliard Roofing did a fantastic job. They met and/or exceeded all my expectations. The work was done on-time, to-estimate (which was very competitive), and the craftsmanship is excellent. Robert and his crew are very professional, courteous, and take pride in their work. I was especially impressed by how cleanly they keep the job site at the end of each day. When the work was done, Robert's crew completely removed all trash, nails, and debris left from my old roof. They even volunteered to removed some "extra" junk that was left behind by another contractor. During the job, one of our garden ornaments was damaged by a shingle falling from the roof. I had expected some "collateral damage" given how big a job the was so I was not upset. But, when my wife pointed this out to one of the workers, Robert went out of his way to find and purchase an exact replacement. Robert also when the "extra mile" to re-shingle my tool shed and woodshed because, in his works, "it looks better."
If I should ever need additional work done on my roof, there is no other contractor I would call. I highly recommend Robert Milliard Roofing.

"We were very pleased with the work done by Eddie and recommend him highly. Eddie gutted and replaced one full bath (upstairs) and one half-bath (downstairs). The quality of the work is excellent. Eddie is responsive to texts and phone calls. His subcontractors were all courteous and professional. Someone came to the house every day (usually Eddie, with one of his subs). This kept the project moving and prevented it from dragging on too long. Eddie and his team left the house clean at the end of each day. His up-front prices were fair and reasonable. When we wanted to make a few changes, he let us know if there was a cost, and we could decide on a case-by-case whether to proceed with the change or not. (For example: We decided to pay extra for a herringbone pattern with floor tile, but we decided not to pay extra for a recessed shelf in the shower.) We are very pleased with the final results."
