"I had 2 20 year old heatpumps in various states of disrepair. I scanned Angie's List for the top 5 recommended HVAC vendors and contacted each. Generally each was responsive but Dan and Mike from A&H were the most forthcoming and honest about what made the most sensible investment for my situation. I had actually planned to go for a pair of ultra-efficient units but after talking with these guys and learning about the 40% raise in efficiency from my old equipment to our new equipment and how A&H met our needs for what our budget was on unit replacement - I got out the spreadsheet and found that it would actually save me several thousand dollars over the life of the investment to go with a simpler unit. I hadn't considered this trade-off and the fact that the A&H guys were willing to share some honest feedback created a good basis of trust for partnering with them on my install. The price for 2 heatpumps is obviously pretty high but they were very competitive with the other top 4 vendors to which i reached out. Especially given the fact that several stuck with the ultra-high efficiency sale and never offered another perspective."

"Robert provided me my 4th estimate. He wasn't either the most or the least expensive. There was something wrong with every other contractor - too high, making a comment like "I've never really done windows but how hard can it be?", to a bait and switch (I called one of the top 3 rated bathroom remodelers who sent me his son with his own separate company because he was retiring - I might have been okay with it had he told me about it in advance). I knew immediately when I met Robert that if he gave me a competitive bid, he would be the one to do the work. <br /> I can't say enough positive things about Robert and his crew. They were very professional, kept me informed of progress on a daily basis, and they cleaned up after themselves daily. They were very attentive to making sure I was happy with everything, and if there was something I wanted done differently, there was no problem with arranging it. Although I am not an expert, there work appears to very high quality. Robert also found some major issues with plumbing in the kitchen that I was not aware of - had he not brought it to my attention, there could have been major problems down the road. All in all, they were great to work with - everyone was extremely nice and friendly, and I couldn't be happier with their work. I would highly recommend! <br />"

"I hired Tatro Plumbing to remove a very old toilet in the basement of a rental property of mine and to install a new toilet. When I called to receive the estimate, I was satisfied with the explanation that the company would charge me for the time that the plumber had to drive from Garden City to a small town in southwestern Kansas and back. At the agreed-upon appointment, the company truck arrived, and there were two gentlemen inside. The two of them proceeded to perform the work in an efficient, professional way. I was satisfied with the work and was especially glad that they removed the old toilet from my property. What surprised me was the fact that after one of them called the main office in order to write out the invoice that he then handed me a bill that included a round-trip drive-time charge for two plumbers. My understanding was that the charge would be for the job, not for two plumbers. I also did not know in advance that two plumbers would be sent. I called the main office and expressed my surprise and asked whether they could deduct a fair amount. The company agreed to deduct what I considered to be a fair amount, and I thought the final bill was fair. <br /> It is not easy to get reputable, professional, and skilled laborers in the small towns of southwestern Kansas, and it is typical to have to hire them from Garden City. I would use Tatro again, because I thought their plumbers were gentlemen and they did a fine job. I thought the communication issue about the charges was resolved satisfactorily. I only give Tatro a B because I thought the charge per plumber, and the fact that two would be sent out, should have been explained to me beforehand. <br /> I do recommend this company. It is professional and skillful. <br />"
