"Wow! Sam and Calla exceeded all expectations. They are responsive, communicative and take the same care with your home as if it were theirs. Our 25+ year old home is cedar sided and needed some love. Their knowledge and experience with cedar/log homes is extensive and showed in the results. Our home was carefully cleaned and re-stained, the foundation repainted and our rear deck, which was in a bad state, rejuvenated. When we begin an update of the interior, they will be our paint team. The quality of the workmanship is outstanding but the thoughtfulness of this team made it one of the best experiences of this kind we have ever had."

The scope of the work entailed drywall and ceiling repairs followed by two finish coats of paint, in addition to covering and safeguarding our pews and A/V equipment beforehand. From beginning to end, Luis Bolivar and his crew did an outstanding job and finished the work early and on-budget. Upon completion, they cleaned and vacuumed the auditorium to perfection. "Drywall subcontractor was Blue Dolphin.  He was excellent and prepared everything for painting.    <br /> Problem arose when repair of the drywall seams extended into the surrounding walls and called for extra painting to be done.   I would have paid extra for the additional work but was told I wouldn't be charged for it. <br /> Real problem was bid included painting a small ceiling downstairs.  It was included in the contract.  There were 2 small stains on the ceiling.  I asked if those could be primed and matched, but contractor said better to paint the whole ceiling which I agreed to and again which was included in contract.    They double primed the stains downstairs and started work upstairs. <br /> When the painters finished upstairs I asked about downstairs ceiling and they called contractor who said that wasn't part of the deal which was simply not true.  He may have forgotten about it,  but it was in the contract.  Plus they had started the job by priming the stains.  Then Contractor got a little huffy on the phone  saying "this is how its going to be, if you want the downstairs ceiling done it will be another $300.00."  His attitude was very disappointing.  So I ended up paying another 300.00, but I didn't pay extra for the additional upstairs painting so it wasn't something I was going to make an issue about.  However, when General Contractor didn't live up to his written contract, then that's a problem people should know about.    Blue Dolphin drywall (his subcontractor) was great though and I would recommend him for drywall repair.  The painting crew was average and missed a few areas that had to be redone. <br />"

"I retired from the federal government and needed to sell my condo and move to Florida. I had to move before paint job. Got an excellent quote. My real estate agent had to coordinate efforts because I first had old carpet removed. Then painting followed by installation of new carpeting. Tony worked well with my real estate agent in scheduling. The paint job was excellent and I got a good return on my investment."

"I don’t usually write recommendations, but rarely do you come across an individual or company that takes this much pride in his workmanship and instills these same qualities into his employees, and it shows. Joe Call is a local contractor who was recommended to my wife and I and we are very happy with our roof and gutters that JC Services installed. Joe and his team were prompt, professional and extremely courteous throughout the entire job. They worked diligently and quickly while taking every precaution to ensure all the debris was disposed of properly. The job was meticulously maintained. The entire experience was positive and hassle free. If you are looking for a professional and experienced local roofer, gutter, and siding expert, JC Services is without a doubt the best choice for the job. JOSEPHCALL@CALLJCSERVICES.COM"

"Bo Hollenczer arranged for demolition of the old bathroom, reconstruction of an enlarged bathroom, tiling with carrera marble, plumbing, painting, glass for the mirror and shower, cabinets through Cabinet Discounters, and recarpeting of four rooms. Workers nearly always arrived on time, and completed their work in a timely manner. Bo kept all of this activity going on schedule and regularly called to alert us to what would happen each day. He responded quickly to every call that we made about a problem and quickly resolved the problem. Prices were reasonable. We are delighted with the final product. and wish that we had made the decision to get this beautiful bathroom several years ago. <br />"

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Queen Anne, MD

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
