"The crew arrived at 8:30 a.m. and got right to work. The tree climber/cutter asked if I wished to preserve the trees surrounding the oaks--several hollys and a hickory--and I said yes. He was very careful when dropping limbs and the trunk such that my other plantings were unhurt. As limbs and trunk pieces came down, other crew members cut them up with chain saws and stacked them neatly where I had asked on a back patio; larger pieces were carried across the street to a neighbors who will split them.  A smaller tree just over our chain link fence in another neighbor's yard was cut off at fence-level.
That aspect of the experience went well. However...
 When Sean gave me the estimate, he told me it was a very good price, but he was trying to go below another estimate I had. On the day of the job, he and Jason then kept reminding me, over and over, what a good deal they had given me. 
Then, when Jason said they were done, I asked why they had left all the stumps still about 3 1/2 feet high! (When Sean did the estimate, we established that the stumps would be cut to the ground.) Jason then proceeded to tell me the oak stumps were too big, he couldn't fit the wood in his truck and there was no way they could do it. The next morning my husband met Sean where they were working at another neighbor's and asked him to finish the job and remove the stumps. Sean initially again said what a good price we had gotten and that they could not remove the trunks because of their size. My husband objected and Sean agreed to cut the trunks to the ground, noting that another neighbor had cancelled a job with them the prior evening after hearing of our dissatisfaction over the trunks. That day they did come over and cut the oak stumps to the ground, a job that took two of them 15-20 minutes. (They did not cut down the stump by the fence.) 
If you choose to use this company, make it clear what you want done, get it in writing, and be present when the crew is there to be sure you are getting what you asked for, and that clean-up is done to your satisfaction.
