"Being new to Birmingham, I needed a pest control company and had no one in mind. I tried PCE(Pest Control Experts) based of a deal on Angie's List and the ratings. PCE called to confirm the appointment and showed up earlier than expected initially. The initial appointment was for treating a new home for insects and pest. They paid careful attention to areas of concern and thoroughly treated the entire home and landscape. The home had a few millipedes which I did not think would be a major problem. Well, I underestimated the issue. I did not know that we have three things that make our new home ideal for these little critters... lack of pest treatments, a basement and rain. After PCE came out and treated the home, we went a few days bug free, but the millipedes returned with a vengeance. There were hundreds dead around the foundation of the home, garage, and in the basement; however, they continued to enter into the basement. Well, I called the owner and he personally came out the next day and and added traps near entrances of the garage and treated things that was not typically a part of the service we signed up for. Well, I underestimated the power of the traps, because we found out that we had scorpions, lizards, etc... coming in the garage. Anyway, we are on our third treatment prior to moving into the home, and I don't feel like I am in this battle alone. The owner has consistently called to check up every few days to see what the status of the critters are. He seems as if he will do whatever it takes to get rid of the critters. Typically I would have moved on to another pest control company, but I am confident in the owner's commitment to resolving this issue. <br /> In addition to pest control, PCE also offers landscaping service that worked perfect for us especially being new to Birmingham They offer a complete landscaping service that also included weed control, edging and trimming of hedges. Being new, he also gave us recommendations for other services we need. <br /> If you are looking for individual attention and personalized service, then look to PCE, because they are a one-stop shop. I will update this should I have any issues going forward with the millipedes, but currently I am satisfied with their efforts. <br /> <br />"

"Critter Control sent someone out to the house very quickly (though I had to pay an exorbitant same-day fee). He captured 1 of the squirrels, said they had gotten in through the chimney, told my teenage son that he should block the chimney with flashing, then left with only 1 of the 2 squirrels. The other squirrel came back into the room a few hours later. I wish they had a left a baited trap in the bedroom in case the 2nd squirrel returned (as it did). I called again and they sent the same person out a second time. Unfortunately, the squirrel was no longer in the room by the time he returned. He said he wasn't allowed to block a chimney and again described how we might do this (but it requires tools and skills that we do not have). So we still have a chimney that has not been blocked & a squirrel that knows how to get in and out of that chimney and room. The bedroom is now closed off and unused. I dare not clean up the filthy mess for fear the squirrel will return and make another mess.."

"After I heard something thrashing about in the chimney box, I called ACE to remove the animal. When Dusty called back, he listened carefully to the problem and laid out the options to catch and remove the animal. When he arrived the next day, he checked our attic to make sure the animal was not in the house, and checked the debris in the fireplace air intake for evidence that the animal had made its home in our chimney box. When it seemed like we'd had a one-time visitor, he cleared out the old bird nest that had been built in the duct and replaced the mesh covering the duct that had been torn away. He said that should it become apparent that the animal was still inside the chimney box or if the new covering was torn away again, he'd put the service fee we paid toward the additional trapping costs. No further noises from the chimney box, no bad smells coming from there either, so it seems like he prevented a return visit from our furry friend."
