"The insurance company recommended them. They come in and give an estimate and tell us what they need to do. They didn’t rush us. They were very reasonable with the price. They came quickly and they were here in a few hours. Two people came out and gave us an estimate, and it wasn’t high pressure or anything like that, which I liked. They come in a truck, and if I don’t want it, they just leave. We wanted to get it done, so they started the whole process right there.  They were quick response and gave us a good estimate and stuck with it, so we were happy with them. The insurance company reimbursed us with the cost because they were able to prevent major damage. They are certified. I was very happy with them. I wouldn’t know how to compare them but, considering what we were facing because we had major cabinet damage and floor damage, so I thought that they were reasonable. They will actually do the rebuild if I want to but we wanted to go ahead and replace the cabinets. The salesman was nice. They had a follow up call and came back a few days later to check on things."

"They immediately covered the floor upon coming in and it remained covered until the job was finished. They came when they said they would and did exactly what they planned to do. They marked all cabinet parts they removed so they all went back to the exact spot they came from. Doors and drawers were taken to their shop and dipped. They even removed panels in doors that are there to allow for insertion of glass panels in case I ever want to change the wood panels out for glass. They came several times to do the painting in steps. They even added an extra coat because they didn't think it was as well-covered as it should be. They were very attentive to detail. They added cushioned pads to the doors and drawers so they wouldn't chip paint when they closed. Everything was put back exactly where it had been. The cabinets look great!"

"I have a very small kitchen so I wasn't anticipating spending more than $10k on a makeover; in fact, I was trying to keep the cost to around $5k or under for cabinet refacing and a new counter/sink. I had quotes from 3 other individuals/companies around town and they were either too sales-like for me or weren't responsive at all. I have to admit I was hesitant about going forward with AKB since I'd not read any review about them on Angie's List or any other website, but I had a good feeling after I met Benjamin to receive the initial estimate. I got the impression that he actually really cared about his work and the job he does and it was more than just a paycheck for him. I really liked how he was even able to give me a ballpark estimate with just some pictures I sent him before he came over to give a true estimate.  <br /> I initially reached out to Benjamin in late May and we had decided to start work the first week of July (on that note, he also had earlier availability than anyone else I had received a quote from). We wound up pushing that back once we received the final quote as we wanted more time to save money for the job. He started work on our kitchen on a Monday and was basically done by Friday, except for a few items he had to come back to finish up early the next week. He was great about communicating when he would be at the house and did a fantastic job cleaning up each day--we were able to still use our kitchen in the evenings.  <br /> We did the back-splash ourselves to save money, and after finishing that, I'm just floored at how beautiful this kitchen looks. I even have to force myself to go to sleep and stop staring at my kitchen each night. It was 100% worth the money and I would recommend Affordable Kitchen & Bath to anyone who wants quality work for a great price. <br />"

"<p>Deck and steps look wonderful. Hail damage caused deck and steps to have some chunks taken out of it. The former stain was worn and had been chipped off by the hail. Mr. Coffey pressure washed the complete deck and steps removing the old stain, mold and dirt. After drying, Mr. Coffey and Mr. Scott replaced several planks that had been damaged. When completed they both stained the deck and steps with a gray stain...It looks 100% better. They were very efficient and did a tremendous job.</p>"

"Michael Hatfield listened to what I wanted done.  Then he inspected my house and took the time to explain what he would need to do. He and his crew tuck-pointed the bricks, restored both the stonework <br /> and wooden window frames and doors and replaced a number of broken windows.   He sealed all masonry surfaces and <br /> primed all the woodwork before painting.  <br /> Each day, they arrived early, went straight to work. At the end of each day they straighten up the work area before the they left.  I don't think I have ever seen a more professional group.  Quite frankly, I can't believe how lucky I am to have hired such a fine company.  My house is beautiful!   In fact, I have to tell you that Mr. Hatfield already has my neighbors lining up to work with him.  <br />   <br />"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Radcliff, KY

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
