"First of all, Oscar had to be very flexible with us.  We had another contractor (ALLStar Demolition) taking out our pool and putting in concrete and decking.  Oscar was very flexible with the other contractor and was responsive through the use of e-mails and phone contacts.  He worked around schedules in order to make sure everything was ready to plant as soon as the rest of the work in the backyard was done.
Oscar was the only person we talked to that heard what we wanted.  He didn't try to sell us his ideas, but heard what my husband and I wanted and then offered suggestions.
We have a large slope in the backyard (60 x 20), three tier planters (each 60 feet long) and a new flat portion of the backyard.  We had a lot of ground to cover.  We wanted easy to care for, low water, low maintenance plants.  My husband and I could not be happier.  Oscar kept checking in with us to see how we liked what he was doing.  We moved a couple of plants around before they went into the ground and Oscar worked with us on plant placement. 
His eye for detail was evident with his use of rocks he found in the yard that enhanced the beauty of the plants.
The great thing is he is now going to be responsible for these plants as I hired his company to be our gardeners.
